There is probably no attraction on the Crimean peninsula that could «compete» with Capes Meganom in the number of fictional stories, legends and tales. Some say that they have seen ghosts on the Cape, others say that they have seen unidentified flying objects, and others insist that Cape Meganom has been haunted since ancient times. Do you think that this is the end of the mysteries enveloping Meganom? Not so!
Locals assure tourists coming to Sudak that somewhere on Meganom hidden mysterious gates, and the one who finds them will be awarded the honor to see the kingdom of Hades. Maybe it is really true, but to this day has not yet found a man who would find this gate. This is probably due to the fact that vacationers come to this Crimean corner not for thrills, but in search of beauty and peace.
By the way, Cape Meganom is a favorite place for «hangout» of ufologists, who claim that not so long ago they shot down a real flying saucer in this area! Crimea is one of the strongest places in terms of impact on the mind. The reason for this is quite simple: no one has ever lived on Meganom, the nature of the cape is virgin and pure, the grass is not trampled, and the atmosphere is unique. In the early nineties, a temple of the god Shiva was erected on Meganom right under the open sky, and yoga devotees still come here to communicate directly with nature and relax from the asphalt cage of the metropolis.
At this attraction of Crimea there is a giant stone block, in which you can see a vertical hole, nicknamed by the people «elevator shaft». Not far from this place there is a graveyard of anchors, the «exposition» of which can be envied by any museum. As for the underwater world of these places, Cape Meganom is a feast for divers. Ordinary flippers and a mask allow you to plunge into an unexplored and mysterious world, striking with its diversity and originality, where schools of fish, scatterings of crabs and openwork weaves of algae rule.
The name of this landmark of Ukraine literally translates from Greek as «huge house». Meganom protrudes far into the sea, and that is why people call it not a cape at all, but a whole peninsula. Connoisseurs rightfully call this place the sunniest in the Crimea. At every step there is a miniature cove, a brook hidden from the eyes of people.
The lighthouse is an undoubted decoration and business card of the cape. Ufologists believe that it is this structure points the way to flying saucers. Nevertheless 
, the lighthouse on Meganom was, is and, probably, will be the first mate of ships for a long time. If you want to see the lighthouse up close, you need to be ready for deserted and a little wild places, for cliffs that give you goosebumps, and for risky mountain trails. However, you don’t have to go to the lighthouse at all. Its view from the shore is beautiful as it is!
There is a military unit at the top, but climbing to the top is not for the faint-hearted. It is best to look at this beauty from afar. Especially striking are the «windmills». From the shore they look like toys, but this does not prevent them from supplying electricity to a good half of Sun Valley.
Fans of club recreation will like Beach club, which is located at the very foot of Meganom and is a direct evidence of the fact that there is one less «untouched» place on the planet. The beaches are dotted with bars, cafes and rental shops. The only thing that slightly uglifies these places is the absurd buildings made of coquina, the owners of which hope to get a piece of land on this place someday. What do you want? Se La Vie…
