Have you ever heard a legend about one of the wonders of Transcarpathia, a mysterious mountain ocean that mesmerizes with its beauty, gives happy love and cures people of serious diseases forever? In the village Sinevirskaya Polyana you will hear it more than once, because this small village is home to one of the most famous wonders of the Ukrainian Carpathians. Because of this and not only Sinevirskaya Polyana village has become one of the most visited places in Transcarpathia, attracting those who despite everything continue to believe in fairy tales and real miracles, appreciate the opportunity to be alone with pristine nature and recharge with the life-giving energy that only it can give.
Sinevirska Polyana village is located in the north-east of Zakarpattya region in Mezhigorsky district — one of the most amazing corners of the Ukrainian Carpathians, where the concentration of natural attractions is so high that they take the breath away from every guest of these places. The purest mountain air, dense age-old forests, steep mountain slopes, picturesque river valleys and mirror-like smoothness of lakes — everything here disposes to a contemplative, even somewhat meditative rest, which is sure to give everyone a boost of strength and health. Tourists come to Synevirskaya Polyana village for such rest, which, along with this, gives an opportunity to see other interesting places — museums and architectural sights that testify to the rich and ancient history of local settlements going back to the depths of centuries.

Like many other settlements in the region, Synevirskaya Polyana began its life in the Middle Ages. The exact date of the founding of the village, unfortunately, is not known. According to legend, the first settlers were fugitives from the yoke of the Panski, looking for a free and quiet life. Legends say that this was the name of the village originally — Freedom: the mountaineers valued what they were able to achieve here and were proud of it. But over time, the settlement was named after its main natural treasure — a large lake of stunning beauty, called Synevir. There are many legends about this lake, the main basis of which is the love between a girl named Sin and a young man named Vir. The story of their love is told in different versions, but any of the legends ends with a tragedy that led to the appearance of a natural miracle — a lake resembling a bird’s eye view. Another of the legends says that those who have seen this eye from a height can be cured of diseases, and all lovers come to the lake to find happiness in each other’s arms forever — according to the legend, the lake gives it to those who are capable of true love.
Legends associated with the main attraction of Synevir Glade are gladly shared with visitors by hospitable owners of small hotels and locals, who, by the way, are not so many — in the area of one and a half thousand people. Due to the small population in the village is calm, quiet and very cozy atmosphere, even despite the fact that both in winter and summer more and more tourists come here, fascinated by the legends of Synevir and looking for a peaceful rest.

In addition to visiting the main wonder — Lake Synevir, guests of the village can go to the Museum of logging on the Chornaya River, visit different parts of the national natural park «Synevir», on the territory of which the village is located. Today this park is considered to be one of the most beautiful in Ukraine, and you can appreciate this beauty by traveling through it: there are 8 tourist routes, 2 scientific-cognitive and 3 ecological trails. In summer, the Sinevir and its natural treasures become the main reason for tourists to come here, and in winter the village Sinevirskaya Polyana turns into a small ski resort, which is perfect for beginner snowboarders and skiers, as well as for those who just like to go sledding.
Whenever you are planning holiday in the Carpathians, the village of Synevirskaya Polyana will be one of the best options for the most wonderful vacation. Clean air, beautiful nature, calm atmosphere — for those who love vacations in Ukraine for all this, staying in such a wonderful corner of the Carpathians as Sinevirskaya Polyana will be an unforgettable experience that will leave the most pleasant impressions.
