How to Get There: The first option is to take shuttle buses from Ivano-Frankivsk. The second option is to drive your own vehicle 59 km to the south-east along the national highway N-10 "Ivano-Frankivsk - Chernivtsi" to Kolomyia, where you will have to turn right and drive 23 km along the regional road R-24 "Kolomyia-Verkhovyna-Tatariv" to the village of Pystyn, where you will have to turn right and follow the sign for another 3 km to the village of Sheshori.

Sheshory village is located in Kosovsky district of Ivano-Frankivsk region, 90 km from Ivano-Frankivsk on the territory of the nature reserve «Hutsulschina» in an ecologically clean area of the Ukrainian Carpathians. All year round holiday in Sheshori attracts tourists from all over the country and abroad. Here come those who want to spend time away from the hustle and bustle of the city, to recover, to get acquainted with the unique local life, to see the local natural and architectural sights.

The village is located on the slopes of Mount Pasechnaya at an altitude of 600 meters above sea level along the mountain river Pistyn — one of the right tributaries of the Prut River. Around the picturesque valley, in which small houses are scattered, rise mountain peaks from 690 to 960 meters high — Radul, ridges Rosohata, Kormitura, Brusny and other mountains covered with centuries-old fairy-tale forests. Here you can see a unique panorama, which can be seen only in the Carpathians.

The village of Sheshory was first mentioned in historical documents in 1445, but it is known that people lived in these parts long before that time. The first inhabitants appeared here more than 10 thousand years ago — in the Stone Age, as evidenced by archaeological finds discovered in 1993.

Throughout its history Sheshori lived a quiet, peaceful, secluded life, thanks to which the village has preserved the life and traditions of Carpathian mountaineers — Hutsuls. This village is considered to be one of the most authentic and original in terms of preserving Hutsul traditions, which is expressed in the musical creativity of local residents (it was here that the song «Hutsulka Ksenia» was born), many of them are still engaged in needlework, art weaving and various crafts. The name of one of the famous residents of the village — A. Vasilashchuk, the winner of the State Prize named after T. Shevchenko. Shevchenko, who created a series of woven «rushniki» based on Kobzar’s poetry, is known throughout the country.

In addition to getting acquainted with the life and traditions, products of local craftsmen, guests of Sheshor will enjoy fascinating excursions to the amazing natural attractions, which are so rich in the village and its surroundings. One of the most famous among them is the beautiful glacial high-mountain lake in the tract of Lebedin, steeped in legends and legends. The Silver Waterfalls, a cascade of waterfalls formed by the Pistyn River near the village, are no less attractive to tourists. The highest among them is the Big Huk waterfall, which drops its waters from a height of 5 meters. There is a mineral spring near the waterfall, and in a specially created area for bathing you can experience the charm of a real natural jacuzzi.

This unusual village will surprise its guests with architectural sights. The most famous of them are the Church of St. Praskovia, built in 1874, and one of the oldest existing Hutsul temples — the Upper Church.
