It is because of this natural attraction that holiday in Sheshory becomes more and more popular from year to year. Silver waterfalls are not only an amazing sight, which can be admired by any guest of a small Hutsul village, but also an opportunity to enjoy the most unforgettable, unusual and revitalizing water procedures that will leave a lot of impressions.
The village of Sheshory stretches for 9 kilometers on both sides of the mountainous river Pistynka — the right tributary of the Prut River. The waters of the Pistynka are crystal clear and warm, despite the fact that it is a mountain river, which originates at an altitude of about 700 meters. But they are remarkable not only for this. Making their way between stony, rocky banks and piles of sandstone boulders on the slopes of Mount Pasechnaya, they form a whole cascade of natural waterfalls of unique beauty, which is called the Silver Waterfalls. Tourists from all over the country and even from abroad come to Sheshori to see this attraction — it is really a unique natural picture, one of the most popular waterfall cascades in the Carpathians.
Located Serebrystye waterfalls almost in the center of the village on both sides of the bridge. Getting to these picturesque places is not difficult at all, and this is another reason why they have gained their fame.
The complex of waterfalls of the Pistyń River is divided into two groups — Bolshoi Guk waterfall and Maly Guk waterfall.
Bolshoy Sheshor Huk waterfall is considered to be one of the most beautiful in the Carpathians. The crystal clear waters of the river rumble down from a height of five meters, and the waterfall covers an area of 0.5 hectares. Falling from a height and hitting rocky ledges and boulders, the waters of the Big Huk form a cloud of water dust, and their roar seems to make the very rocks that blocked the river’s path shudder.
The height of the Small Sheshor Huk is three meters, but it is no less impressive.
The name «Guk» was given to the waterfalls because of the rumbling and murmuring in the river valley, and they are called silver because the water shimmers and glistens very brightly under the rays of the sun. Here the view opens up a really impressive natural picture, which will remain in the memory of each guest of these fabulous places for a long time. It is not without reason that the Silver Falls have repeatedly become a filming location for feature films and music videos.
The Silver Falls here you can get not only aesthetic pleasure from contemplating the outstanding scenery — every tourist can bathe in the warm waters of the river, which in summer warm up to 25 degrees Celsius, and try all the charm of a real natural Jacuzzi. The cascade of waterfalls extends for hundreds of meters, and on many parts of the river you can take the most unforgettable water procedures, which will not only give a lot of pleasant impressions, but also necessarily improve the body, give new strength and energy.
Above the Silver waterfalls there is a tourist base of the same name and sanatoriums specializing in the treatment of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, joints, nervous and cardiovascular systems. Not far from the waterfalls there are mineral springs, and the intoxicating mountain air and stunning views of the Carpathian peaks make bathing in the Serebrystye waterfalls even more unforgettable.
