In a wonderful place on the shore of the beautiful Azov Sea not far from the southern Ukrainian steppes is the village of Sedovo — one of those wonderful corners of the country, quiet and peaceful, where you can enjoy your vacation truly. Sedovo’s natural attractions attract tourists from all over the country and abroad, inspire and mesmerize. Year after year vacation in Sedovo is becoming more and more popular among those who at least for a vacation seek to escape from the hustle and bustle of the stone jungle.
This is a small urban-type village with a population of only about 2.5 thousand people, located in the south of Donetsk region on the seashore. This is a real paradise for those who appreciate the opportunity to spend time quietly, without fuss, alone with nature, recover, gain strength for further life in the city. Although there are discos, restaurants, bars, and you can rest not only in the private sector, but also in any of the numerous resorts, here if you want to get away from the modern hurried rhythm of life. At the same time, entertainment places are always open for those who still want to have fun during the rest. In general, today Sedovo is one of the best Ukrainian resorts on the shore of the Azov Sea, including thanks to the wonderful microclimate. Even just breathing here is useful, as the air is filled with iodine and bromine, as well as other healing substances that come from the sea and the steppes located to the north of the village.
Near Sedovo there is a famous natural attraction — a zoological natural monument of local importance «Krivaya Spit». It is a sandy reclaimed spit going into the sea for 9 km, in honor of which, by the way, until 1940 the village was called. And its present name was given to it in honor of an outstanding person — G.Y. Sedov, hydrographer, polar explorer, who was born here and died during the expedition to the North Pole.
Another interesting natural object, but located a little farther from the village, is the Khomutovskaya steppe 28 km north of Sedovo. This is a unique reserve — a large virgin steppe, which has never known a plow, which gives an idea of how the lands of the Azov region used to be. Among other valuable attractions of Sedovo are Krivokossky estuary, ornithological reserve of local importance, where the rarest species of birds nest, and landscape park «Meotida», which includes the above objects. Within the village there are such attractions as the Amusement Park and the Sedov Historical Museum — both of these places will be interesting to visit for all tourists from small to large.
Well, of course, in addition to visiting interesting natural sites and attractions, everyone who spends his vacation in Sedovo, enjoys relaxing on the wonderful sandy beaches, swimming in the warm waters of the Azov Sea, which in May can warm up to 26 degrees. This small village is a wonderful place for a health-improving vacation, with democratic prices for housing and food, modern infrastructure and different opportunities for every taste.
