It is known that Koreiz was first mentioned in written sources in the VIII century, as witnessed by the historian Berthier-Delagarde, indicating that at the place where the village stretches today, there was once a bazaar Kurasita and monastery Kyuriza. By the way, its name is of Greek origin, which means that, as in the neighboring settlements, once lived and the ancient Greeks and the history of life here is much more centuries, and maybe even millennia. But even if we do not take into account that people lived here so long ago, Koreiz remains one of the most ancient settlements of the southern coast of Crimea.
The modern stage in the life of Koreiz begins after the annexation of Crimea to Russia. In the «Universal description of the Crimea» 1873g. said that this is the busiest village in the South of the Crimea, with shops and inns, where travelers can always have a good rest. And it did not take long for travelers to arrive. First, Princess A.S. Golitsina built her estate here (today it is known as the Yusupov Palace, as it later passed into the hands of this family, one of the richest Russian families). A park was created around the palace, which today is recognized as a monument of garden and park art. Then the panorama of the village is supplemented by the snow-white oriental ensemble of the Dulber Palace, which was built for Grand Duke P.N. Romanov, around which a beautiful park with a botanical garden is also laid out. Of course, not without other famous families: the Meshcherskys, Naryshkins and many other representatives of the Russian nobility built their estates and dachas here. Thanks to this, today the architectural sights of Koreiz are diverse and will please the eye of any connoisseur of elegant forms and rich imagination of architects of bygone eras.
