Today, vacation in the Crimea is a tourist variety in all its manifestations. Each corner of the ancient Taurica is good in its own way, and attracts those wishing to have a pleasant vacation with its unique advantages. And there are these advantages not only in such large and famous resort cities as Sevastopol and Yalta, but even in small towns, such as the village of Morskoye. Clean air and sea, picturesque mountains, ancient sights of Morskoye — all this attracts tourists, many of whom come to vacation here every year.

The village of Morskoye is located 16km west of Sudak and less than 10km — from New World in the Kapsikhor Valley (named after the old name of the village — Kapsikhor), dotted with vineyards and surrounded by picturesque Crimean mountains. It is quite small: the population of about 2.2 thousand people, three and a half streets, private sector. But for those who are accustomed to appreciate in vacation the opportunity to be alone with nature, peace and tranquility, the same words open a lot of opportunities. Small with three streets — it means that from any point of the village you can quickly reach the sea and enjoy the rest on the shore, few residents — it means cozy and quiet, private sector — it means rest not in four walls, and in close proximity to nature. For people tired of the stone jungle is a real paradise, which will give the soul an unforgettable vacation. But with all this in Morskoye perfectly developed infrastructure for a good rest, and even at the disco there is a place to go!

Along with the houses of the private sector in the village can be seen and several boarding houses, in which you can live in closer to urban conditions: «Zenith», «Shakhtar», «Metallurgist», «Sunny Stone», «Almaz» — all of them hospitably open their doors to those who want to have a good rest and recover. At boarding houses and separately from them work stores, cafes, restaurants, several discos, and on the beaches you can rent a scooter, go diving or ride on bananas. Also in search of entertainment, everyone can use the services of local tour bureaus, offering excursions throughout the Crimea to its remarkable natural, archaeological and architectural sights. However, to see interesting objects, you do not have to travel far at all — the local treasures of history and architecture are within easy reach.

Like other coastal settlements of the Southern coast of Crimea, Morskoye has a history that goes far back in time. Historians have not established exactly when the first settlement was founded here, but it is believed that in the VIII-IX centuries people — descendants of Alans and Goths — lived here. This is evidenced by archaeological finds: a little further from Morskoe — 5 km to the west, on Cape Agira visible ruins of the fortress Chaban-Kale, near which were found the remains of pottery kilns dating back to VIII-IX centuries. The fortress of Chaban-Kale is the evidence of a later epoch, when these territories were owned by the Genoese (XIII c.), but the remains of kilns cut into the slope of the cape tell about the most ancient pages of the history of Morsky, when in its vicinity lived people whose main occupation was pottery — the production of amphorae, vessels, pythos and flasks, which were then sold throughout Taurica. Thus, Cape Agira keeps the memory of two pages of the history of the village, thus attracting tourists eager to experience the ancient sights. But this is not the end of their list: on the other side of the village in the eastern direction on Cape Ai-Foka for more than two thousand years stands the Bosporan fortress Asandra, which is of great value not only for scientists, but also for lovers of such inspiring antiquities. The list of sights of Morsky is continued by sights of a slightly different kind — waterfalls of Zelenogorye, Shalyapin’s dacha, in walking distance for fans of long walks Shalyapin’s Grotto and Golitsynskaja-tropa — treasures of the eastern neighbor of the village of Novy Svet.

Developed infrastructure with maximum proximity to nature, various opportunities and entertainment, interesting objects are complemented in this wonderful place by such advantages as the purest air and crystal sea water, cozy beaches and stunning landscapes. It is not without reason that several young musicians, including V. Tsoi himself, were inspired to create the band «Kino» when they were here in 1981. And today this amazing place still inspires every tourist who spends his vacation in Morskoye.
