Zatoka is one of the wonderful resort villages in the south of Ukraine, hospitable, sunny and interesting. Every year thousands of tourists from all over the country and abroad come to Zatoka for vacation — there is a lot to do here. Tourists can improve their health here, see the sights of Zatoka and the surrounding area and just have fun — for several decades, interest in this place among tourists is only increasing.
A small village of urban type Zatoka is located on the Budayskaya Spit, dividing the Dniester estuary and the Black Sea, its second name is Bugaz (in honor of the name of the port). Only 50 km to the north-east of Zatoka is one of the pearls of Ukraine, beautiful Odessa, and less than 20 km to the north-west is one of the most ancient cities of the country Belgorod-Dnestrovsky. Such a wonderful location of the resort Zatoka played a significant role in its popularity: resting here, tourists have a great opportunity to go to Odessa and enjoy walks in this city or to join the history in Belgorod-Dnestrovsky — such a variety of opportunities, given that in Zatoka itself is impossible to get bored, makes vacation in the village very attractive to tourists.
The founding of Zatoka is attributed to 1827. — The settlement of Buda Spit was due to the fact that there was built a lighthouse, which needed maintenance. Near the lighthouse appeared houses first builders, then the pilot and a team of sailors, and only 100 years later there is already a school. As a resort Zatoka began to develop in the 60’s of the last century, from the 80’s it became a popular budget destination for vacationing citizens of the USSR.
Today Zatoka is not just a village, it is a resort area of more than 20 km along the beaches with golden sands, there are many hotels, resorts and recreation centers for every taste and purse. Tourists laze on cozy beaches, enjoying the warm southern sun and swimming in the sea, improve their health, including thanks to the health-improving climate due to the combination of steppe and sea microclimates, relax at discos, bars, restaurants and cafes, ride scooters, water slides, catamarans, bananas and bunions, paragliders and hang gliders, kite and windsurfing. Fishing is also popular in Zatoka — in the Dniester estuary there are pikeperch, carp, bullhead and many other kinds of fish. And those who are interested in history and architecture, find a lot of pleasure in visiting local and nearby sights. Zatoka attractions include Zatoka Bridge, the panorama of which reminds of the coastal American cities, and it is considered an eye-catching sight to see the bridge being drawn several times a day. Well, and the surrounding attractions here and not to count — what are the neighboring cities: Odessa and Belgorod-Dnistrovsky with an ancient fortress Akkerman, which is about 2.5 thousand years old! The nearby village of Shabo, famous as a wine-making region, also attracts tourists.
