If you are thinking about where to go in winter or summer, and you want to have a rest so that the time spent charged with maximum energy, strength and the most positive mood, go to holiday in Pilipets, here you will get everything that your soul is so thirsty. Pilipets village is one of the most cozy corners of Mezhigorie, a place where you can forget about the hustle and bustle of the city and everyday problems, have fun and relax, spend time with health benefits.
Pilipets is one of the most ancient villages of Mezhigorie district, it was founded in the middle of the XV century — in 1463. The picturesque mountainous area at the confluence of two rivers, now called Repinka and Ploshanka, attracted fugitives from the neighboring villages — it was here that people, who were looking for freedom from the burdens imposed by feudal lords, felt that they could start a new life. And so it turned out: here they were able to engage in farming and cattle breeding, to organize their lives in harmony and tranquility, given by the magnificent nature, enchanting with its beauty.
Pilipets is located in a beautiful area at the foot of the Gemba Mountain (also called Gymba). It is surrounded by centuries-old forests that cover the slopes of the peaks pointing high into the sky, which are part of one of the most beautiful Carpathian mountain complexes — the Borzhava meadow. It seems that nature carefully hides the village, which grew up in a cozy hollow between the river valleys and the mountain Gymba, 1497m high in the sky, protecting it from prying eyes. If you don’t know where it is located, you won’t find it, even though Pilipets is more than 700m above sea level.

According to folk stories, the village owes its name to the first settler. He was a shepherd named Pilip, and the village was eventually named after him. The history of the village, which counts more than five centuries, has preserved the evidence of such a distant stage of its life. One of such evidences is the wooden Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, in which thanks to the efforts of the villagers managed to preserve the ancient iconostasis of the XVIII century. The neighborhood of the village is rich in similar sights, but not only the ancient architecture attracts the guests of this wonderful place.
Not far from Pilipets, there are stunning natural sights here and there. These are one of the most famous and highest waterfalls of the Ukrainian Carpathians — Shipot, picturesque peaks Borzhava polonina, to which tourist trails lead from the village, presenting the beauty and imagination of Mother Nature in all its diversity, as well as a unique source of natural carbonated mineral water (such springs are extremely rare in nature). Guests of the village both in winter and summer find something to see in the village and its surroundings, but first of all, many tourists who come here in winter spend time on the slopes of Mount Gymba, which has been considered one of the best ski resorts in Mezhigorie for many years.

In the village of Pilipets there are many ski slopes, the total length of which is more than 20 km. The longest piste is 6 km long — it is a real pleasure for skiing lovers! Because of the popularity of such recreation Pilipets is often called a ski resort, and one of the best in the Ukrainian Carpathians. Skiers come here from Uzhgorod, Mukachevo and other neighboring settlements to have an interesting time, to ski in the picturesque surroundings, to relax in sanatoriums and recreation centers located at the foot of the slopes, to have fun in restaurants and cafes offering dishes of different cuisines of the world.
Pilipets village combines the seemingly incongruous — few ski resorts in Ukraine can boast such a picturesque area at the same time with a modern level of service and developed infrastructure of recreation. It is just such — modern, but at the same time secluded, close to the pristine nature of recreation in the Carpathians has made famous local small villages, such as Pilipets, far beyond the borders of the region and even the country. Such places make vacation in Ukraine increasingly popular and attract those who are looking for an opportunity not just to enjoy a vacation, but to do it with the benefit of spiritual and physical health.
