Podobovets ski resort is located 12 kilometers from the railway station Volovets on the road towards Mezhgoria just behind the pass. The small village is nestled on the northern slope of the Polonina Borzhava mountain range at the foot of Veliki Verkh (1598 m).
In the village of Podobovets there is a cultural monument — the wooden St. Nicholas Church (1785, Baroque style). Near the church there is a cross painted with Gospel scenes in 1903.
Not far from Podobovets the pearl of the Carpathians — the Shipit waterfall, one of the highest in the Carpathians (the water falls from a height of 14 meters!), delighting many tourists with its grandeur.

Mountain slopes of the ski center «Podobovets» with a height difference of 360 meters and a length of more than 1300 meters are one of the most difficult in the Ukrainian Carpathians. In some areas the steepness reaches more than 45 degrees.
The first slopes with an elevator were equipped in Podobovets during the Soviet Union. The downhill slope was one of the longest in the country and was suitable for all-union competitions. It was also suitable for giant slalom skiing.
At the moment there are three rope tow elevators among the ski infrastructure.
Two — 1 300 and 1250 meters. And one training — 400 meters. The descent is 1300 meters long. There is a central piste and two arms to the left and right. The height difference is 360m. The steepness of the descent on different sections differs significantly. The upper part of the 600m long descent is relatively steep. The middle one, about 400m long, is just a table.
.
From the top of the big elevator the road along wide meadows leads to the summit Veliki Verkh (1598 m). To go to it 2 hours, but the descent from it on skis or boards is worth the labor. It is not recommended to walk in fog.
piste No. 1
— to the left from the rope tows (if you look at the mountain) — a tseliak, through the forest, then a big roll out across the field to the rope tow (convenient for snowboarding);
also, to the left from the main rope tows (if you look at the mountain) by the pipe, you can get to the elevator «Pilipets». Attention! On this route you can move only with an experienced guide!
route No. 2
— To the right or left of the rope tows (in the valley) — the upper part in the center — steep descent, bumps, to the left — tseliak (as a rule), then all the routes of the trail converge on a small rollout, then steep descent, bumps and a large rollout (about 400 m), which will be comfortable to ride even for beginners (if you get off the rope tow in time);

piste No. 3
— («sport») — to the right from the rope tows (if you look at the mountain) along the trail to the rollout — steep descent with bumps (as a rule) — rollout to the lower station of the training rope tow. Two very steep pipes branch off to the left into the forest along the trail — they both lead to the upper station of the training elevator;
The lower part of the training track, about 200m — a gentle slope to the right (if you look at the mountain) of the main elevators. Ideal place for learning alpine skiing. The slope is equipped with artificial lighting for night skiing.
