What could be better for a vacation than endless expanses, air filled with freshness and aromas of mountain herbs, incredibly beautiful mountain landscapes that fill the soul with awe at the majesty of nature? One of the most interesting options for recreation in Mezhgorsky district is the ascent to the Borzhava meadow, during which you can fully enjoy all these wonders of nature.
Polonina Borzhava is the largest in length and area in Transcarpathia mountain massif, which is part of the Poloninski range of the Ukrainian Carpathians. Its length is more than 50 km, width is about 34 km, and the highest peak — Mount Stoy rushes into the sky at a height of 1681 meters above sea level. On both sides of Borzhava are the valleys of the rivers Rika and Latorica, which seem even more picturesque from the height. It is said that from the highest mountains of Borzhava, among which are also the Big Top (1598 m), Magura-Zhida (1505 m), Gemba (1498 m), you can see half of the entire Transcarpathian region.
Borzhava beckons with the high-mountain range, in summer its valleys, gentle and steep slopes resemble green, 
and in the fall — yellowish-brown velvet. Mountain valleys at any time of the year present the most beautiful, and in some places even quite exotic pictures.
On the highest peak of Borzhava — Mt. Stoy — the remains of a radar station have been preserved since the Cold War. Surrounded by incredible panoramas, it looks more like a kind of Stonehedge than a simple ruin. Another amazing sight is the valley of dead trees near Kamennaya Mountain. The first and the oldest gas pipeline in Transcarpathia was once laid here. A few years ago, an accident destroyed all the vegetation with a blast wave. Over time, shrubs and grasses recovered, but dry tree trunks still remind of the consequences of human activity on nature. Nevertheless, the valley of dead trees is a fascinating and mysterious rather than a sad sight.
Although there are traces of the modern world in a few places, most of Borzhava is completely untouched. Often the meadow is also called the blueberry paradise because of the abundance of this berry in season. Other vegetation on the slopes and peaks include beech forests, bilous grass, lingonberry bushes.
The ascent to Borzhava is memorable for a long time, and thanks to the possibility to do it from the side of gentle slopes it is not difficult even for unprepared tourists. It is a pleasant journey, in which you can enjoy stunning views of this sightseeing of Transcarpathia, created by nature itself. It is on the slopes of Borzhava that such famous sights of Ukraine as Shipot Waterfall and Sinevir Lake are located, as well as ski resorts that have already gained fame outside the country.
