Ivano-Frankivsk region is famous for many natural beauties, and rivers are undoubtedly among the treasures of these picturesque lands. One of these treasures is the amazing Pystynka River.
Mountain River Pystynka originates at an altitude of more than 700 meters above sea level, is one of the right tributaries of the Prut River. Its waters are crystal clear and are home to trout, mirena and many other species of fish. Despite the fact that this river is mountainous, in the warm season it warms up to 20-25 degrees, so everyone can enjoy pleasant water procedures in its purest waters among the beautiful Carpathian nature.
The most picturesque and famous section of the river is located near the Hutsul village of Sheshori, where it appears before the amazed eyes of tourists in the form of a whole cascade of waterfalls. Fast waters of Pistyńka here meet natural obstacles in the form of huge stone blocks scattered here and there on its way. The calm river becomes turbulent, loud, hissing, forcibly breaking through the stone obstacles, hitting and crashing against them, its waters murmur, forming here and there high splashes, water clouds of scattered crystal drops, and even waterfalls.
The cascade of waterfalls of the Pistyńka River near the village of Sheshori was named Silver Waterfalls, and today it has become one of its most famous sights. Tourists from all over the country and abroad come to Sheshory to see the Silver Waterfalls. The Big Huk and Small Huk waterfalls drop their waters from a height of five and three meters, the other waterfalls are smaller, but they allow you to understand what a natural Jacuzzi is — bathing in them gives unforgettable sensations and leaves the most pleasant, vivid memories, as well as recuperates and gives new strength, a burst of energy.
Besides aesthetic pleasure from contemplation of beautiful natural pictures, which open to the eye at the banks of the river, you can also enjoy fishing on it, or make an extreme rafting on kayaks. The latter is preferable to do in the rainy season or in late fall, when Pistyńka becomes deeper and fuller. There are several tourist bases, sanatoriums and tent cities above the river, where anyone can stay.
It is thanks to the Pistyńka River and its Silver Waterfalls that the village of Sheshory got the status of a resort.
