Dinzer Mansion

Location: Simferopol, St. Nabereberezhna, 1

Dinzer MansionThe city as a whole and individual attractions of Simferopol are an inspiration for all who come here. Incredible beauty of architecture, a lot of historical sites, unique atmosphere — all this annually attracts a lot of tourists to Simferopol, who want to have a good and inexpensive vacation, to feel the cheerful spirit of the capital of Crimea.

One of the attractions of Simferopol, a monument of architecture is Dinzer’s mansion, built in the early XX century. This mansion is justly called one of the most beautiful once private houses in the city.

The Dinzer Mansion is located at 29 Naberezhnaya Street. The two-storey building is built in the style of neoclassicism with elements of baroque, its distinctive feature, thanks to which the building delights all who see it — asymmetrical forms, giving the house a certain shade of mystery, giving the impression that this house is from some good fairy tale, a magical story. Gently pink, burgundy and white colors, in which the building is painted, strengthen this impression.

If you look at the building from the front facade, you can see that its left part is forward, the central part is also shifted to the left — here through the main entrance decorated with a two-column portico you can enter this fairy-tale house. The right side of the building is characterized by straight, simple lines. The unusual building is crowned by an equally unusual decorative dome, at the top of which is a sharp spire surrounded by a wrought iron fence with patterns. This detail is the most original in the whole architectural composition.

The history of the building and the fate of its former owners is quite tragic. The mansion was built as a summer house for the most famous florist in Crimea, who owned the largest flower store on the peninsula — A.F. Dinzer. In 1917 the Dinzer family had to sell off or they simply lost all their property. The Dinzers were kulaks, one of them was imprisoned, the other was sent in exile to Kazakhstan. The mansion was nationalized, and its tenants became people who had proved themselves in the service of the Soviet authorities.

Even before the revolution, behind the mansion, in the courtyard was arranged «Sketing-market» — one of the first in the Crimea platform for roller skating for a fee. Also in this building were held a variety of festive events — in 1899 here celebrated the 100th anniversary of the birth of Alexander Pushkin, and in 1913 — the 300th anniversary of the Romanov House.

In 1987 in the Dinzer mansion a chess and draughts club was organized, which works here to this day. Before the club was opened, the mansion was reconstructed internally and externally, this beautiful architectural monument was not lost, its exterior and interior are preserved and maintained. In the mansion Dinzer nowadays are held competitions of local, all-Crimean, all-Ukrainian and international scale, and anyone can visit here and admire the creation of an unknown architect. If you go on vacation in Crimea, take time to visit the Dinzer Mansion — it is a great opportunity to admire the most beautiful sightseeing Simferopol — one of the examples of neoclassicism in its best traditions.
