The theater festival of children’s and youth groups «Fairy Tale in the Guyu», dedicated to the Children’s Day, annually takes place in the open air on the territory of the Museum of Folk Architecture and Life.
The festival has its own history, traditions, is a favorite «fairy tale holiday» of Lviv citizens and guests of the city. The event gathers thousands of young spectators and is interesting for people of all ages, because for everyone a journey into a fairy tale is an exciting and pleasant event.
The main idea of the festival is to support and create conditions for the development of children’s and youth groups of theatrical genre, to provide an opportunity to realize their creative potential, to exchange experience, repertoire, to get into the fairy-tale atmosphere of a fairy-tale place. Visitors will be able to plunge into the magical world of fairy tales where they will be met by their favorite heroes and characters, where goodness, festive mood and fairy spirit reigns.
Fairy tales performed by the participants of the festival — children’s and youth theater groups from different cities and regions of Ukraine will come to life in the meadows of the museum. The participants will present the following performances: «The Amazing Adventures of Orange Hedgehog and Marianna’s Puppet», «Grandma Visiting the Bear», «Cinderella», «Nobody Will Believe», «Knows and Co», «Repka», «Over Time», «Kolobok for a New Order» and others.
In addition to theater groups, vocal and choreographic groups take part in the festival. Also during several days of the festival there will be entertainment glades. Namely:
— «Glade of Entertainment» — entertainment and fun with the Fairy Girl, Flower Girl and cheerful Guyovich.
— «Glade of storytellers» — fables and legends from storytellers, storytelling about fairy tales, lullabies in Ukrainian traditions of looking after a child.
-«Glade of Little Masters» — folk masters will hold master classes for children and participants-collectives on different crafts: weaving, pottery, painting the oven, making a doll — motanka from hay, fabric, napkins.
The grand opening and closing of the festival is a separate large theatrical performance with the participation of professional actors from the theaters of Lvova. The festival ends with the awarding of diplomas, cups, gifts and a disco for the participants. The participants will be evaluated by a professional jury, which consists of professional actors, directors, specialists from the fields of culture, literature, theater, representatives of the media, members of the Union of Theater Workers Ukraine, teachers of directing and scriptwriting, methodologists of the theater genre.
