Trush Museum

The Museum of Ivan Trusz is located in an exquisite two-story villa built in 1910 by the famous architect O. Lushpinski in Art Nouveau style. In it the artist lived with his family during 1910-1941. The mansion was bequeathed to the National Museum in Lviv by his daughter Ariadna Trusz for an art-memorial museum.

Since its opening, there has been a permanent exhibition in two sections.

The first section presents the multifaceted talent of Ivan Trusz, which covers various spheres of artistic and social life in Galicia at the turn of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. A selection of photographs and epistolary legacy from the artist’s archive reveal him as an outstanding personality, and a number of theoretical publications, reflections on topical issues of cultural and artistic life — as a critic and public figure.

The second section of the exposition presents the artist’s work, presenting him as an unsurpassed singer of lyrical landscape, a master of psychological portraiture and the author of numerous thematic genre compositions.
