Dniester Mermaid Museum

Museum of Mermaid Dnestrovaya was created in the monument of architecture of the XVIII century — the Bell Tower of the Svyatoduhivska Church, which has a unique clock, installed in the XVII century by Hetman Ivan Vygovskiy in the Skete Maniavsky, and moved to the Svyatoduhivska Bell Tower in the XVIII century.

The museum exhibits cover the social, research, literary and publishing activities of Markiyan Shashkevich, Ivan Vagilevich and Jacob Golovatsky, the founders of the ‘Russian Trinity’ circle. The museum presents documents telling about the conclusion of the collection ‘Bandinelli’, the conditions of publication, circulation and its fate. Of special interest are rare editions of the almanac: 1837. — In Budim, 1910 — in Ternopil, 1987 — Kiev, as well as «Family Tree» by Markiyan Shashkevich.
