Her incomparable beauty lyric-dramatic soprano — a truly unique phenomenon in the opera art of the late XIX — the first decades of the twentieth century. Outstanding Italian musicologist Rinaldo Cortopassi defined her high place next to the men who at that time dominated the opera stage — Caruso, Chaliapin, Titta Rufo, Battistini. At the same time he noted: «However, compared to her illustrious colleagues, she was much higher as a person. Who is she, where is she from, what is her fate? You will learn about it, visiting the Musical — Memorial Museum of Solomiya Krushelnitskaya in Lviv. The museum occupies the second floor of the house, which once belonged to Krushelnitska and where the last years of her life were spent.
The exhibition rooms display original photographs, posters, concert programs, portraits, fragments of stage costumes, sheet music, and personal belongings of the artist. The excursion through the museum is a kind of journey into the past, during which you will visit the artistic world of S. Krushelnitskaya, together with her you will pass her life path, rejoicing for her successes on the stages of the most prestigious theaters of the world, get to know her friends and family better. And, finally, hear the inimitable voice of the Great Singer.
The museum’s collection of more than 17000 exhibits contains not only things that belonged to S. Kruszelnicka, but also a lot of interesting materials related to the names of other prominent cultural figures, in particular, Stanisław Ludkiewicz, Modest Męcinski, Daria Bandrivska, Lubka Kolessa.
