In early May, Lviv will host the International Festival of Medieval Culture «Lviv Old Times», where knights from Eastern European historical reconstruction clubs will also compete in equestrian duels. It will be one of the extravaganzas in ancient Lviv.
For two days a real medieval performance takes place in Shevchenkivsky hai. The museum-reserve will turn into a medieval city of XIII — XVI centuries with the life and culture of that time.
The Shevchenkovskij Gaj itself will be divided into conditional thematic sites and at each wooden house of the Museum visitors will find a new medieval entertainment. And these are dozens of different master classes of real professionals: pottery, blacksmithing, shooting with a real English bow, medieval dances, etc..
Those who wish to feel themselves as heroes of that epoch will be able to try on medieval costumes. The medieval tavern will serve dishes according to ancient recipes, and masters of various crafts will sell their products at a stylized fair.
The culmination of the festival will be the equestrian duels of knights, the winner of which will choose the Queen of the festival.
