One of the young Lviv festivals «Diapason» celebrated its 5th anniversary in 2011. The festival became traditional and entered the calendar of cultural events of the city. Lviv’s fame as a city with more than 600 years of organ traditions has made the festival extremely famous in the world: a large number of organists annually wish to take part in it. Prestigious organ magazines do not ignore the city of Lviv, for example, the international magazine with the same name «TheDiapason» (http://www.thediapason.com), founded in 1909 (USA), in 2011 sent its correspondent to make a story about the state of organ music in Lviv, the magazine «Organ» (Moscow) also constantly covers materials about the events of organ Lviv.
Thanks to the support of the city department of culture and the dedication of Iryna Zeitz, the founder and artistic director of the festival, the annual «ranges» — 
is not the only opportunity for fans to hear famous foreign organists playing, even though through the deep crisis organ music in Ukraine is one of the most neglected branches of culture.
For more than 5 years certain traditions of the festival have been formed. Among them — participation of «grands» and «stars», obligatory support of youth and local musicians. All these principles can be seen in the program of the festival, which, in addition, will have many hidden symbols. Firstly, in most cases, it will feature performers who come from Ukraine, received their musical education here, and became leading soloists in other countries, which testifies, on the one hand, to the high level of musical education, and on the other hand, to the deep crisis of organ art in the country. Secondly, it is deeply symbolic that two of the participants of the festival — T. Baginets and R. Krasnovsky — were previously soloists of the Kharkov House of Organ and Chamber Music, where the new and largest organ of Ukraine (of the firm «Alexander Shuke», 72 registers) was put into operation. 
.Concerts of these performers form a kind of «organ bridge» through Lviv not only between East and West, not only between the countries with which Ukraine is united by its pupils, but also a smaller bridge between two major cities of Euro 2012, between two former capitals and between two major organs of Ukraine.
Through the joint efforts of the organizers, society and authorities, the festival aims to revive ancient traditions in a somewhat neglected area of art — organ music. We hope that, as in previous years, the festival will bring you, listeners and admirers, pleasant moments of communication with divine works and bright performers.
