"Fairy Tale Glade."

Location: Yalta, St. Kirova, 154.

Dear friends, we are glad to welcome you at Yalta’s «Glade of Fairy Tales» — the only open-air fairy tale museum in Crimea!

However, the word «museum» in our case does not mean a collection of dusty antiquities, laid out on shelves and provided with numbers. On our Glade fairy tale heroes are hospitable hosts and real friends for our visitors.

Our amazing «Glade of Fairy Tales» is located on the outskirts of Yalta, at the foot of the bizarre, like an ancient castle, Stavri-Kaya rock, on a sunny forest edge. Its discoverer in 1960 was a kind-hearted man — a folk craftsman Pavel Pavlovich Bezrukov, who settled here and surrounded himself with kind and recognizable characters from popular fairy tales.

The glade quickly became a favorite recreation spot for adults and children, and in 1970 it received the status of a museum, albeit a very unusual one. Soon other masters began to create works especially for our museum and to the delight of kids. It is not surprising that today many adults bring their children and even grandchildren to visit us, and family archives contain photos taken at the Glade of Fairy Tales 20, 30 and even 50 years ago.

But if adults remember their childhood at the «Glade of Fairy Tales», then today’s children themselves with pleasure get acquainted with the characters of their favorite fairy tales and cartoons. And our guides will help you and your children through the world of fairy tales of our Glade. I must say that our authors have tried to make their fairy tale heroes recognizable even for the youngest ones. Often it is the image of this or that fairy tale hero, seen in distant childhood on the Glade, becomes the most dear and close for a person for the whole life.

All the «residents» of our Glade are very fond of having their pictures taken. And how can one pass by brave Ukrainian Cossacks, mischievous Pinocchio and wise Tortilla, reckless Three Little Pigs, graceful Princess Swan, grown up Mowgli and his best friend — panther Bagheera? All in all, more than two hundred sculptures of fairy-tale heroes have found a shelter among stones and trees in the «Glade of Fairy Tales», and every year there are more and more of them. And, by the way, you can be photographed with many of these sculptures. But the most popular «photo model» of the Glade has always been Baba Yaga, who takes pictures of the hut on chicken legs in the farthest corner of the museum. If you say a magic spell, the hut will creak, the door will open and… But you will find out what will happen next when you visit the «veteran of fairy-tale labor» of our museum.

Walking around our Glade, every visitor involuntarily catches himself thinking that he is not in a museum at all, but in a real fairy-tale forest. Only this forest was created by human hands, where every bush, every tree or flower grows exactly where they should according to the plot of this or that fairy tale. Numerous flower beds and flowerbeds are a natural decoration of the exposition. These are evergreen ornamental shrubs, alpine gardens, rockeries and numerous vases with bright bouquets of flowers, which cause genuine delight among visitors of all ages.
