In the 80’s the fame of this attraction Beregovo became famous throughout the whole Union — it was here that athletes came to prepare for the Olympic Games, to take healing baths, to recover and gain strength. Since then, not a dozen years have passed, and the unique waters from Beregovo thermal springs continue to give health and beauty to people who come to the small town from all corners of the country and abroad.
A huge thermal pool 50 meters long and 4 meters deep in the open air, filled with waters of hot thermal springs flowing at a depth of thousands of meters — a real treasure of Ukraine, gained fame as a unique attraction of Transcarpathia, the only one of its kind in the whole country, one of the few in the world. There are no more than four springs with similar water composition in the world: in New Zealand, Sakhalin, Kamchatka and Iceland.
The water in the Beregovsky thermal basin is silicon-nitrogen-carbonic-chloride-sodium, highly mineralized and rich in trace elements.
Such composition of water promotes treatment and improvement of well-being in endocrine, cardiovascular diseases, diseases of the nervous system and musculoskeletal system, as well as many other ailments. Having bathed in the miracle pool once and feeling better health, many guests of Beregovo come here several times a year.
However, the advantages of Beregovo thermal pool water do not end with its healing composition. Its temperature is also surprising, thanks to which you can swim in the outdoor pool all year round, including in winter. When the water enters the pool from a depth of 1000 meters, its temperature is about 55 degrees Celsius, closer to the surface it cools to 35-36 degrees — a pleasant temperature for bathing. In winter, bathing in the pool is even more enjoyable — there is snow and winter landscapes around, and the thermal waters are warm and cozy, you can get out, walk barefoot in the snow (thus strengthening the therapeutic effect of the baths due to the contrasting temperatures) and jump back into the warm and pleasant water. Already after two or three baths in the pool, Beregovo guests notice a general improvement of health, lightness and a burst of energy.
Beregovo thermal pool is part of the complex of tourist base «Zakarpattya», built in the 60s of the last century. Not far from the large pool there are two shallow ones for children, they work only in the warm season.
What makes the experience of swimming in this unique attraction of Transcarpathia even more vivid is the huge Olympic complex for skiers’ training that rises next to it. There is also a bar-shop and sauna next to the pool, and a hotel and dining room are open at the campground.
Thanks to the healing springs, which are so rich in Beregovo, it is often called a real thermal resort of Transcarpathia. Not far from the city in the village of Kosino also operates a campground with several swimming pools, and soon at the entrance to the city from the direction of Mukachevo will open a large-scale entertainment and recreation center «Thermal Maximus» with an aqua park, outdoor and indoor pools, spa resorts and other opportunities for an unforgettable vacation.
Thanks to the healing thermal waters, the small and cozy town of Beregovo has received the status of an invaluable attraction of Ukraine, which the whole country is proud of.
