Beregovo — a town located on the Virke Canal, connecting the rivers Borzhava and Latorica, has long been a center of winemaking. Many wine cellars have been preserved here, some of which are currently used for their intended purpose.
Every year, since 2000, in Beregovo, on the central square of the city, is held International Wine Festival («White Wine»), which this year is held in early spring. This is the International White Wine Festival, where the best Transcarpathian winemakers will present their samples of the wine harvest.
The grand opening of the International Wine Festival will be interesting: it is planned to accept new knights and court ladies (maid of honor) into the Wine Knighthood of St. Wenzel.
The program of the festival, as always, is rich: exchange of experience of the best winemakers, exhibition and sale of equipment for wine production, scientific and educational conference on viticulture and winemaking, wine drinking culture, tasting of the best varieties of Transcarpathian wines, lottery drawings, contests, photo exhibition, performances of musicians and dance groups, songs and dances dedicated to wine.
