Every corner of Beregovo has its own charm, interesting architecture, but one of the most beautiful places in the city, however, is justly considered to be Lajos Kossuth Square, which is a pedestrian part of the Old Town. It is here that visitors to Beregovo get the most vivid impression of the old architecture of the small town, and it is largely formed by the impression of the former city court building, which towers, dominates over the rest of the two and three-storey houses and mansions.
The architectural ensemble of Koshuta Square has been formed for centuries — this part of the city has always been pedestrianized and the most fashionable. But only in 1909 there appeared a building that really reflects its importance. The large-scale, pompous, luxurious, unusual building of the Komitas Court became a real decoration of the square, attracting attention and delighting with its originality all those who saw it.
The city owed the appearance of such an architectural gem to three outstanding architects:
Ferenc Jablonski, Istvan and Janos Kopas. The court building was erected in just 2 years — in 1908-1909, the architects wanted to embody in it all the power and triumph of the united Austro-Hungarian Empire, and they succeeded. Neo-Baroque and Renaissance styles were taken as a basis. The massive central part of the building was supplemented by three projecting elements — risalites decorated with Tuscan order columns and culminating in large, majestic mansard roofs with dark tiles. This solution of the facade gave the building an unusual, made it bright and memorable, dominating over all the surrounding buildings, a real Palace of Justice. Even today, many tourists who have been to Beregovo note that it is the building of the City Court that is most memorable and sticks in the memory — it is the building that is most often seen in photos of the city.
During the Second World War, the court building housed not only the court, but also the police, city institutions, and after its completion and until 1971 — a military barracks. 
Then, in the already damaged inside from neglect, the majestic structure, one of the symbols of the city, the brightest attractions of Zakarpattya, the Soviet authorities decided to house a precision mechanics factory, which functioned there until 1991 and finally turned the once solemn, beautiful halls and rooms into faceless workshops. Since 2002, the Komitat Court building was handed over to the Ferenc Rakoczy II Hungarian Institute of Transcarpathia and has been undergoing restoration and reconstruction ever since.
Despite years of neglect, the Beregovo Court building has managed to retain its majesty and beauty, it still attracts the eyes and admires all passers-by. In such sights of Ukraine as Beregovo, rich, despite its small size, in architectural treasures, the Court building is one of the most interesting, beloved by residents and popular among tourists.
