On October 29, 2010, the Kuindzhi Art Museum was opened in Mariupol. A.I. Kuindzhi.
The museum is located in the historical part of the city, on St. George Street, 58, in a building built at the very beginning of the last century, architectural style — Art Nouveau.
The museum collection includes 650 paintings, 960 graphic works, 150 sculptures, more than 300 works of decorative and applied art.
On the first floor of the museum, in 3 halls there are expositions telling about the life and work of Arkhip Ivanovich Kuindzhi: photos, documents, letters, furniture items of that time. But the main thing is the paintings of the great master. The museum presents their life-size copies of very good quality. There are also originals of A.I. Kuindzhi: sketch «Red Sunset», two sketches «Autumn. Crimea» and «Elbrus».

They were transferred to the Museum of Local Lore from the State Russian Museum by decision of the USSR Ministry of Culture in 1966.
The exposition of the 4th hall on the first floor presents paintings and graphic works of A.I. Kuindzhi’s contemporaries: I.K. Aivazovsky, A.P. Bogolyubov, V.V. Vereshchagin, N.N. Nakhchivan. Vereshchagin, N.N. Dubovsky, L.F. Lagorio, I.I. Shishkin, portrait of Kuindzhi by G.O. Kalmykov, a pupil of A.I. Kuindzhi.
The exposition halls of the second floor (5. 6 halls) exhibit paintings presented to the city after the first republican exhibition of landscape «Memorial of A.I. Kuindzhi» in 1973. These are beautiful works by recognized masters of landscape: N. Glushchenko, M. Deregus, I. Marchuk, T. Yablonskaya, A. Gritsai, S. Shishko, V. Tsvetkova and others.

The works of Mariupol artists, honored artists of Ukraine N. Bendrik, P. Kot, as well as paintings by L. Gadi, Y. Zlydny, I. Bertiakov, G. Prishedko, V. Arnautov and other artists became a real decoration of the exposition. Despite the difference in creative methods of the painters, whose paintings are exhibited in the halls of the art museum, they are united by the fact that they are all executed in the best traditions of realistic art.
The exposition halls of the second floor are also used to exhibit paintings of Mariupol artists, to hold exhibitions of art history. The halls provide for interactive programs, lectures, meetings, demonstrations of films about art and artists, and chamber musical evenings.
