Rika RiverWhere the mountains pierce the blue sky with their sharp peaks, where the velvet expanses of green forests seem boundless, where landscapes of incredible beauty open up to the eye and a person is inspired, filled with energy and strength by the mountain air, the waters of the Rika River make their way. This river, being one of the natural treasures of Transcarpathia, attracts guests of the region at any time of the year with its fabulous beauty.

Rika is a mountain river, the birth of which is given by three small mountain streams Prislop, Repinka and Torunka, they, in turn, originate on the southwestern slopes of the Verkhovyna Ridge. It is one of the largest rivers in Transcarpathia, its waters travel 92 kilometers before flowing into another natural attraction of the region — the Tisa River near the town of Khust.

Rika RiverThe Rika River is known far beyond the borders of Transcarpathia not only for its beauty and magnificent natural landscapes opening from its banks. On this river there is a unique engineering construction — a tunnel through which the waters of the Rika are replenished by artificially supplied waters of the neighboring Terebli River. Starting from Tereblya reservoir, this tunnel passes through the Bovzarski Dil range and supplements the Rika with new waters. However, this technical construction has in no way affected the beauty and harmony of the surrounding nature. The Rika is divided into several branches in many places along its way, and the tunnel is connected to one of these branches, which many visitors to the region are eager to see.

The valley of the Rica River is a picturesque picture, in the upper reaches it overcomes narrow corridors of numerous mountains and hills, in the middle and lower reaches it becomes wider. The banks of the Rica are centuries-old beech and coniferous forests. The local natural pictures offer tourists a fantastic, fantastic places, reminding them that there is no greater and more talented creator than nature.

Rika River While enjoying the beautiful views, one can fish or raft on the Rika. Rafting is one of the most popular activities. And for fans of a more relaxed vacation — fishing, the Rica is a real pleasure. The inhabitants of the river are minnow, char, bullhead, burbot, burbot, pike, pike, roach, jerch, tench, white-eye, catfish, ruff, perch, pikeperch and trout (in the upper reaches of the river).

Natural beauties and riches of the Rika valley became a reason for setting up a lot of recreation centers, sanatoriums, balneological resorts on the river.
