Daffodil Valley is considered one of the most beautiful and mesmerizing landscapes in Transcarpathia. During the blooming period in May, thousands of tourists from all over the country and even from abroad come here every day. It is a unique natural object, there is no second one like it anywhere in the world.
Located just four kilometers from the ancient town of Khusta in the tract of Kireshi Valley of daffodils is the only one of its kind. The wild narrow-leaved daffodil is a rare plant listed in the Red Book, and only here it grows only 200 meters above sea level. Other similar valleys can be found in the Alps, mountainous areas of the Balkan countries and Romania, but they cover a much smaller area and are located at an altitude of about 2 thousand meters above sea level. That is why the Daffodil Valley in Khust is unparalleled — white flower carpets cover an area of more than 170 hectares during the daffodil blooming period!
The Daffodil Valley was formed during the Ice Age. A huge layer of land slid down from the mountains, and when the ice began to descend, numerous streams of water flowed into the valley, so the mountain daffodils and managed to acclimatize in the lowlands. However, there is

According to legend, it was here — in the valley of the river Chustec — that the son of the nymph and the river deity Kefissa, the unusually beautiful but cruel young man Narcissus, looked at his reflection. Filled with lingering love for himself, he withered and died of heartbreak, and in the place of his death and grew a magnificent flower with cold beauty and intoxicating fragrance. Over time, from one flower in the Khust-Solotva valley, whole fields of daffodils were formed, covering the green expanses in spring with an airy, delicate white cloud.
Narcissus is not a simple flower, which has different meanings in different cultures and has been sung by many poets and writers. It was called stupefying, stunning, sunny, tender, cold. In the ancient Greeks daffodil symbolized sadness and death, the Romans considered it the flower of the winners, Pluto considered it a symbol of transience of love, and in ancient Persia it was called «beautiful eye», «the creature of beauty and immortal pleasure». This flower has a lot of epithets and many meanings, it is even attributed the ability to heal people, to give a good mood and get rid of anxiety, sadness and depression.
Whatever the meaning of the daffodil in different cultures, all guests of the Daffodil Valley agree in one thing — during the blooming period, opening before 
the eyes of the gentle, solemn, light and picturesque picture strikes the imagination, and the fragrance spreading for hundreds of meters enchanting. The combination of impressive scenery and unearthly fragrance transports one into a fairy-tale world of beauty and light. Spacious fields covered with a white carpet of flowers will always be remembered by guests of this magical place created by nature itself.
Since 1992, the Valley of Daffodils has become a part of another attraction of Ukraine — the Carpathian Biosphere Reserve. The flowers that disappeared from the face of the earth, as well as beech forests, alpine and subalpine meadows were taken under the protection of UNESCO. Today the reserve occupies a huge territory of almost 58 thousand hectares, but the Valley of Daffodils, despite this, is considered to be its most impressive corner. It is easy to see the beauty of this incredible attraction of Transcarpathia, feel its fragrance and be filled with the feeling of beauty and unity with nature: all you need to do is just come here.
