The amazing natural riches that Ukraine is generously endowed with must be protected and preserved, which is why every year more and more new biosphere, nature reserves and national nature parks are established. The Verkhovyna National Nature Park in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast is one of such recently organized nature protection areas.
Established National Nature Park «Verkhovynsky» was in 2010 by order of the President of Ukraine V. Yushchenko, and in October 2011 the protected area was marked on the map of the country.
The National Nature Park «Verkhovynsky» is located within Hryniava and Verkhovynsky State Forestry and extends on the territory of more than 12 thousand hectares, full of real natural treasures. Here you can see the world-famous natural sights of the Carpathians: majestic mountain landscapes (the Chivchinskie and Hryniava Mountains are located here), stunning panoramas of mountain valleys, green expanses of virgin beech, fir and spruce forests, variegated canvases of endless subalpine meadows. Mountain and forest landscapes are complemented by picturesque valleys of the Bely and Black Cheremosh rivers, which originate here.
On the territory of the reserve the guests of the Ukrainian Carpathians can see the pictures of inexpressible beauty — the complexes of the rarest natural ecosystems are functioning here: endemic and relict species of plants are preserved, rare representatives of fauna live here and there, the remains of volcanic rocks are found here and there. In general, the world of flora and fauna in the natural park is very rich and diverse, and after the establishment of the reserve, interesting hiking trails have been laid for all fans of ecotourism to get acquainted with it.
Another aspect of the creation of the National Natural Park «Verkhovinsky», which will be interesting for tourists, is that on the territory of the reserve, rich in springs with healing mineral water, will be opened zones of therapeutic and recreational recreation, all conditions for recreation and recovery of people who appreciate the opportunity to improve their health, being in proximity and unity with nature.
Verkhovyna National Nature Park has already become the fifth nature protection object in Ivano-Frankivsk region. Thanks to this, the region has reached the European standards, according to which at least 15% of the area of the state-territorial unit should be reserved areas protected at the state level. However, for the residents of the country and tourists, the main value of the establishment of the reserve is in another way: thanks to the establishment of the protected area all these priceless treasures will be preserved for the next generations, who will also be able to get acquainted with the stunning beauty of nature of our planet, traveling in beautiful Ukraine.
