Walking around Kolomiya, every visitor is impressed by the amazing architecture of this wonderful town, small but so rich in attractions. Many private and public old buildings surprise not only by their venerable age, but also by their well-groomedness, beauty, harmony of forms and architectural compositions. One of them is Gymnasium named after Hrushevsky, located in the building of the former Ursuline monastery.
Today in the walls of the old monumental house, built on Ivan Franko Street more than a hundred years ago — in 1907, there is the Hrushevsky Gymnasium. Hrushevskyi Gymnasium, one of the most prestigious educational institutions of the city. However, originally this complex of buildings housed the convent of the Sisters of the Ursulines — a monastic order, which was created in the times of the distant Middle Ages. 
The Ursulines, while remaining in a secular but chaste and poor life, devoted themselves to the establishment of schools and orphanages and to outreach in Catholic education. After the Ursulinkas, the complex passed to the founders of a private women’s gymnasium, and only in the 90s of the last century it was decided to house the current educational institution, whose graduates today glorify it as one of the best schools in the city.
Today the three-storey building of the main building of the former convent of sisters-ursulinoks is one of the most impressive on I. Franko Street and in the city as a whole. Large, massive, but at the same time light and slender, it can not fail to attract attention, so every visitor who planned a vacation in the Carpathians and passing through Kolomyia, walking around the city, even just a few hours, is sure to notice and distinguish it against the background of other city buildings.
