Among the numerous sights and interesting places in Yaremche stands out the Museum of Ethnography and Ecology of the Carpathian Region, a branch of the Kolomiya Museum of Folk Art of Hutsulschyna and Pokutya named after Kobrinsky. It was founded not so long ago, in 2007, after the reorganization of the museum dedicated to the liberation movement in Ukraine, which previously (during the Soviet Union) bore the name «Museum of Partisan Glory». The first museum in Yaremche was founded back in the 30s of the XX century, and in the 60s of the same century the creation of an ethnographic museum began. Mikhail Muzyrya, a local local historian, led the creation of the museum, collected a large number of historical, ethnic and natural exhibits, which were placed in the building of the former villa «Gena». The museum had only two departments — painting and historical and natural history.
The next stage of the museum’s development was the construction of a new museum building in 1967, which looked like a partisan kurney. The Sidor Kovpak Museum of Partisan Glory was located there. In 1993, the museum was reorganized, after which there were expositions devoted to different epochs of the Ukrainian liberation movement: the creation of the Legion of Ukrainian Sich Sagittarians, the Ukrainian Galician Army, the youth organization «PLAST», the proclamation of Carpathian Ukraine, the SS Division «Galicia».
In the ethnographic museum you can see the permanent exposition, which is dedicated to the events of the First and Second World Wars, in particular to the leaders of OUN and UPA, ordinary members of liberation organizations, the Soviet partisan movement in Ivano-Frankivsk region. Of course, there is also an exposition that helps to understand the unique culture of the Hutsuls. 
It presents samples of folk arts and crafts, among which there are many rare, even unique items. The collection of tapestries by the People’s Artist of Ukraine Mykhailo Bilas — «Kosovo Bazaar», «Black Horses», «Dovbush» and others — deserves special attention. The collection of Easter pysanky, presented in the museum, allows you to better understand the spirituality and culture of the Hutsul people, penetrate its sunny mood and religiosity. By the way, as well as a collection of household items and clothing of Hutsul and Hutsul women of the 1930s from the village of Mikulichin, which can also be seen in the museum. After all, it is in the villages of the Carpathians that folk traditions are preserved, which can be seen in clothing, musical instruments and household items. In 2011, the museum opened an exhibition of unique knitted icons by the famous craftswoman Nadezhda Solomko, whose works have already been exhibited in other major cities — Lviv, Kamyanets-Podilskyi, Ivano-Frankivsk.
Another facet of cultural and educational work is not alien to the workers of the museum. The Museum of Ethnography and Ecology organizes and conducts seminars, scientific and public conferences, festivals, where the issues of development of Hutsul folk crafts, ecology of the Carpathians and Carpathian region, history of the native land are raised. The museum organizes lessons in folk studies for schoolchildren and students, as well as meetings with famous personalities of the Carpathian region and with guests of the city.
Visit the Museum of Ethnography and Ecology, because vacation in Yaremche is not only mountains, waterfalls and hikes, but also acquaintance with the culture of the local population, its history, manners, spiritual values.
The museum is open for guests and residents of the city every day, except Monday, from 10 to 18 hours.
