The ski slopes of Rakhiv are located almost in the very center of Europe. Not far from the city there is a stele indicating the exact geographical center of Europe. The city itself lies among the mountains. It is surrounded by the Rakhiv Mountains to the south and Chernogorsky Ridge, from the north Gorgany and from the west stands Mount Svidovec. The ski slopes themselves are located on the Menchul mountain. There are not many of them, only two, their length is 350 and 800 meters, and they are designed either for lovers of quiet skiing, or for training beginners. Experienced instructors help you to learn or improve your skills. There are two elevators as well as slopes. One of them is of rope tow type, and the other is a multilift. You can rent skis or other equipment at several rental shops. For a change from the slopes you can go down on sledges or snowcats. Or you can go horseback riding.

Rakhiv can offer you accommodation in its hotels and resorts or you can rent a room, apartment or cottage from the locals. There you will be offered to eat. And if you want, you can visit local cafes and koliba, in the latter very tasty dishes of local traditional cuisine.
In the evening or in the afternoon you can go out into the city and relax in local spa centers, baths and saunas. You can also play billiards or shoot in a shooting gallery. And for those who like to dance, there are discos.
For people who prefer excursions, Rakhiv can offer to visit its historical monuments located in the vicinity. These include primitive human dwellings, wooden churches built in the XV-XVIII centuries and so on. And from the natural monuments you should definitely visit the deepest mine in the Carpathians «Druzhba», as well as the biosphere reserve zone, on the territory of which there are caste caves «Milk Stone» and «Ridge».
