The beauty of nature. Is there anything closer to a human being, something that can give him more joy? Hardly. Only communication with nature — natural, clean and untouched — like nothing else energizes, gives unforgettable impressions, improves physically and spiritually. Walking along tourist, scientific and cognitive, ecological paths surrounded by such nature, city dwellers get rid of the feeling of heaviness, dust and fatigue — and that is what real rest is. In Mezhigorie such a vacation is available to all comers in National Natural Park «Synevir».
This park, located in the central part of the Ukrainian Carpathians in Mezhgorie district, is known throughout the world. Its beauty and unique attractions attract tourists not only from neighboring countries, but even from the United States, France, Great Britain, as well as Australia and Canada — countries that are themselves rich in natural attractions. Why are people willing to travel halfway around the world to visit Synevyr Park? Who knows, maybe they are attracted by the famous legend of the high-mountain Lake Synevyr, maybe by the ancient architectural sights, and maybe by the glory of the picturesque Ukrainian Carpathians.
The National Nature Park «Synevir» was established in 1989 on the basis of the landscape preserve «Synevir Lake», created in 1974. To preserve not only the main attraction — Synevir Lake, which gave its name to the whole park, but also such priceless natural treasures as picturesque mountain valleys, ancient beech and fir forests, fauna and flora, where there are rare species of endangered animals and plants, the territory of the park was expanded to 40.4 thousand hectares. Today, 5.8 thousand hectares of them belong to the protected zone.
Park «Synevir» is a corner of virgin, untouched nature, opening to guests a wonderful world and breathtaking landscapes of fabulous beauty. Thanks to the diversity of landscapes, here you can see the fast mountainous rivers Tereblya and Black River, calm lakes Sinevir and Ozirce, brooding bogs Zamshatka and Gluhanya, high mountains Negrovets (1707 m above sea level) and Strimba (1719 m above sea level), mixed and pure forests of beech, fir, spruce, pine, alder, maple, elm.
The animal world of the national park is also rich — out of 236 animals 22 species are listed in the Red Book of Ukraine — there are such rare animals as mountain roe deer, European deer, fox, wolf, ermine, badger and others. There are 38 species of rare plants in the park — snow-white snowdrop, marsh sheichceria, representatives of tundra vegetation and taiga inhabitants, which are very rare in the Carpathians.
Traveling through the park «Synevir» by tourist trails, you can see not only natural sights of Transcarpathia, but also authentic architectural structures. There are 7 ancient wooden and stone temples of XVIII-early XX centuries in the park. Tourists are also attracted by local museums: the only in Europe Muzej of forest and rafting on the Black River, Museums of Kolochava, as well as the park’s museum, housed in a specially built original wooden building next to its administrative building, where you can take a virtual tour of the vast territory and plan a tourist itinerary.
In this attraction of Ukraine you can not only visit, but also live. There are several comfortable hotels built in the park, which do not disturb the harmony of nature, but at the same time offer all amenities. Staying or traveling in the National Nature Park «Synevir» will be a real vacation for everyone — you just need to come here!
