In 1882, V.A.Shreter placed in the magazine «Zodchiy» a drawing of the facade of the Reformed church for Odessa, which would be decided in Gothic forms with elements of the Renaissance.
The church is rectangular in plan. It is included in the row building, which affected the chamber nature of the structure. Its facade is asymmetrical and has a floor division. The paired windows of the first floor are replaced on the second floor by Venetian windows, the aperture is divided in two by a column on a pedestal. The windows are inscribed in three large arches. In a single composition with them there are round windows located in the center and crucifers in the lower part.
The entrance is highlighted in the right part by a canopy. On the sides of the entrance the architect designed graceful lanterns. Above the entrance is a triple framed oval window, above which is a round window. The composition is completed by a plinth cut through three narrow windows, crowned with a cross. The gable roof has a number of hearing windows. A tower with a graceful spire rises above the building.

The laying of the building followed on April 30, 1895. The construction was carried out by engineer H. Skweder under the supervision of architect A. Bernardazzi. The new church was a three-story building: on the first floor were machines for steam heating, on the second floor — the apartment of the pastor, and on the third floor — directly the prayer hall. In 1896 the church was built, and in 1900 it was finally finished and consecrated. The building was erected on the money of a special fund, which in 1890 was established by the congregation on the initiative of Pastor E. I. Kornman.
The parishioners of this Church in pre-revolutionary Odessa were recognized and acknowledged «by their fruits». In the very building of the Church there was a shelter for unemployed governesses and bonnes. Together with the Lutheran community the Evangelical city hospital for 150 beds (11 Belinskogo St.), the present tuberculosis hospital, was built and maintained. In memory of Baron A. Е. His heirs built a two-story overnight shelter for 725 people (Staroportofrankovskaya Street).

And the Baron himself bequeathed 15000 rubles to finish the construction of an orphanage. These are only the most significant deeds of the Odessa Reformed of earlier days.
So lived Reformed Church in Odessa until 1917. In Soviet times, the church was closed, and the building, designed by architect A. Minkus, was rebuilt into a puppet theater.
Currently, with the financial support of the Presbyterian Church of America, the church has been restored. In 2002, the best organ in the South of Ukraine was installed in the church, and it has become a good tradition to hold charity concerts of spiritual and classical music with the participation of many Odesa, Ukrainian and foreign musical groups.
