Alexander Korobchinsky Art Center is a center of contemporary art in the south of Ukraine, a platform for communication and realization of creative ideas of the art community and representatives of other spheres of culture.
History
Alexander Korobchinsky Art Center is located in the very center of Odessa — on Pushkinskaya Street, 32, in a building built in the early XX century. In 1910 it housed the Odessa branch of the Russian-American partnership of rubber manufactory «Triangle». The spacious exhibition halls of the Art Center offer a unique opportunity to present global trends of contemporary art without saving on exhibition space. Perhaps, it is for this reason that art centers with the «last word of diverse art» are created in the premises of former enterprises, particularly in Kiev, Moscow and other European capitals. Odessa was no exception, having decided to be among the first.
The Alexander Korobczynski Art Center was opened on September 2, 2009 — on the city day. As noted by the author of the project and well-known in the city patron Alexander Korobchinsky, «the newly created studio is called to become a refuge for artists of all directions and styles». The creator of the Art Center plans to bring Odessa to a higher creative level.
The famous Russian artist Nikas Safronov, who was present at the opening of the Art Center, called the event a world-scale event: «In Berlin, London, Paris such galleries are the most prestigious…» and expressed confidence that the Art Center will become a world-class art center. — and expressed confidence that the Art Center in Odessa is already one of the best galleries in the world.
The work of the Art Center began with the presentation of the Odessa Grows Up project, which reflected the fashionable trends of contemporary Odessa art. The participants of the project were well-known in Odessa and Europe artists Alexander Roitburd, Oksana Mas, Sergey Lykov, Vitaly Parastyuk, Lesya Verba and others.
Since September 2009, the Alexander Korobchinsky Art Center has hosted several hundred events, including international events.
The School of Acting and the School of Journalism have been opened within the walls of the Art Center. In the future, a museum of contemporary art will be created.
Mission
The main mission of the Art Center is to modernize the artistic sphere and to educate a new generation of free-thinking creative people.
The main task of the Art Center is the implementation of a large-scale program of exhibitions of famous international and Ukrainian artists and young authors. In addition, the Art Center implements educational projects, supports cultural and social programs.

— The Art Center is a single living organism with a circulatory system through which creative inspiration, excitement, ambition and brilliant ideas flow, mixing in the right proportion.
— The Art Center is not a springboard, but a spaceport from where the most powerful and brightest talents are launched into the art orbit.
— The Art Center is a generator of new ideas and adrenaline experiences, an accumulator of new names.
— The Art Center is a space for immediate creativity in the art laboratory, a fund to help young geniuses, a space for auditory and tactile experiments, literary evenings and pop-art parties, cinema for the chosen ones and just a place for meeting and communicating representatives of all art currents of original and cosmopolitan culture.
Our opportunities
The author’s interior design of Alexander Korobchinsky’s Art Center only emphasizes the modern perception of the art space, faceted by the architectural style of old and new Odessa: the gallery occupies the upper hall, with windows overlooking the courtyard of the building, and the lower hall, «drowning» in the silence of sparkling ideas. The total area of the premises is 418 square meters (the upper hall — 218 square meters, the lower hall — 200 square meters).
In October 2010 the technical capabilities of the Art Center were expanded. A media center equipped with modern audio and video equipment was opened in the lower level. The hall can accommodate 50 people, is equipped with Wi-Fi and comfortable armchairs. Organization of video presentations, live-video conferences, broadcasting on monitors from the media center to the upper hall of the Art Center only enhance the perception of the ongoing exhibitions. A modern conference system guarantees high quality sound both in the room and on the recording.
