Arkadia means «paradise corner» in Greek. And indeed, Arcadia favorably differs from other areas of mass recreation. It is located in a gully, imperceptibly descending to the sea. The area is well landscaped. The slopes of the gully protect from winds, greenery — from heat. In a small natural bay the water warms up faster than in the open sea. In Arcadia established a peculiar microclimate, it is much more favorable and milder than on the rest of the coast. Even on the hottest days there is no tiresome heat. This resort has low humidity, low precipitation and stable atmospheric pressure. The air in the Arcadia area is especially healing, saturated with negatively charged ions, iodine and bromine salts.
On one of the terraces stretching above the surf, you can see people at any time of the day watching powerful waves crashing against the rocks and the wall during a strong run-up, raising high foamy crests and splashing water dust.

Before the reconstruction of the coast Arcadia was one of its most exotic corners.
A small strip of yellow sand in the natural lagoon was limited by a chaotic pile of rocks, among which were «cave» cottages, kureni, booths. The chaos of rocks and stones had its own charm, but the opportunities for rest and bathing were minimal.
The exoticism of the Arcadian coast has disappeared forever, but the beach itself has become more comfortable and better. Now it is 2200 meters long and 60 meters wide. The total area of the beach is 352 OOO square meters. There is a large boat station in Arcadia.
Near the beach and on the territory of the resort there are a restaurant «Zhemchuzhina», a cafe «Belaya Acacia», a shashlychnaya, a canteen, two cafeterias, bars, food and industrial pavilions, kiosks, stores.
There is a post office, a telegraph office, a savings bank, a hairdresser’s, various workshops. There is a summer movie theater.
Arcadia is a favorite place for walks in the evening. On the alleys of the park, near the sea is always crowded. In August it is good to observe one of the most amazing phenomena — phosphorescence of the sea surface. In the night twilight on the crests of waves glow microorganisms and nochesvetka of protozoa, abundantly inhabiting the surface layer of water. It is worth anything to shake the water, and you will see its soft greenish glow.
Arkadia, located next to the Gagarin plateau, has a gentle natural descent to the sea. The beach is sandy. And after 10 o’clock in the evening Arkadia turns into the center of summer nightlife of the city. The most fashionable and glamorous discos of the city are located here.

The most fashionable and famous of them are «Ithaca», «Pago», «Western», «Ibiza», «Cocos». There are also a lot of bars and discos and simpler dance floors around. Arcadia at night in summer is a more crowded place than even the city center.
Reconstruction of Arcadia continues. Sanatorium buildings are being built. The slopes, protected from destruction, are being planted with greenery. Now the new, southern part of Arkadia beach is as green and attractive as the old one.
One of the advantages of Arcadia beach is its proximity to the city center and good communication with almost any of its districts.
