Before you is a sculptural composition installed on Novoselsky Street in Odessa in memory of Steve Jobs — the world-famous founder of Apple Corporation. The monument was unveiled on October 5, 2012, the first anniversary of the death of the genius of information technology. The idea of the statue came to students of the State Academy of Technical Quality Regulation, and the sculptor and artist Kirill Maksimenko, a graduate of the same Academy, who now specializes in creating art objects from metal structures, brought it to life.
As you can see from the photo, the sculpture is made in the form of a human brush with an Apple-style image of an apple piercing through it. The brush is mounted on a steel frame made of thousands of metal parts welded together. All these gears, screws, bolts, nuts and wheels were brought to the studio by ordinary citizens of Odessa. They say that in the dark time of day the composition is illuminated with white-blue neon light. Another remarkable thing is that the sculpture has a device for free Wi-Fi internet access. 
On the front side of the monument there is a plate attached to the pedestal, which says: «Thank you, Steve» in Russian and English. This miracle was installed in front of the entrance to the student dormitory.
Many people are sure to have a question, and why, in fact, the monument is made in the form of a hand? The author of the sculpture at one time explained this feature of his idea. He reviewed a huge number of videos with Steve Jobs and noticed that the founder of Apple, in addition to words, gesticulated a lot. This upwardly raised hand was extremely characteristic of the great entrepreneur’s communication with colleagues and the public.
To the glory of Odessa residents it should be noted that the Monument to Steve Jobs is the first in the former Soviet Union and the second in the world.
