It should be noted that City Day has always been the most important and the most favorite holiday of Odessa citizens. Evidence of this is found many times in historical documents and literature, which describes in detail the holding of incredibly lavish balls and crowded festivities on this day.
Modern Odessa is not lagging behind. The unemployed stop looking for work for a while, workers take a day off, students put aside their textbooks — everyone is ready to relax! And everyone celebrates City Day in a large-scale, spectacular and unforgettable way. It is known that there will be mass public festivities, spectacular shows, concerts of Ukrainian and foreign pop stars. And the finale of the holiday will be an incredibly spectacular laser show and festive fireworks.
Visit Odessa on the City Day and except for your favorite Black Sea, there will be a sea of music, a sea of entertainment and a sea of positivity waiting for you!
The key festive events for the City Day are scheduled for August 30 and 31 and September 1-3.
The main concert venues of Odessa anniversary celebrations will be:

— Kulikovo Field.
The program of Odessa birthday celebrations is designed for every taste, age and cultural preferences. There are traditional events, which for Odessans and guests of the city have already become symbols of the celebration of the City Day. These are the Flower Show, the Gala Concert on the Potemkin Stairs, the traditional fireworks, the concert on the Kulikovo Field, the theater festival «Meetings in Odessa». Along with this, there are new events that are gradually trying to be launched, such as: festival of street performances and ceremonial arts «Odessa Open air», festival of new Polish cinema, «Babel-fest», rock festival «Pikey Vests» in memory of Igor Gankevich, festival of DJs, opening of the project «Ukraine and Odessa in miniature» and the Alley of Stars of Odessa.
The official celebrations will start on August 30. An interesting event of this day will be the Poetry Salon in the Vorontsov Palace, 
dedicated to modern literary Odessa and writers. An exhibition of works by Odessa artists will also open there.
On August 30, an op-air concert will be held on the Colonnade near Vorontsovsky Palace.
On August 31, the Flower Exhibition and the Second Odessa Festival of Decorative and Applied Arts will open in the arboretum. The exhibition will last all weekend, as well as on September 2.
On August 31, the City Garden will host an open-air concert. And the series of «open-air» performances will be continued by the concert of the participants of the International Song Festival «Soul Wave», which will be held on September 1 in Gorsad.
Over three days — August 30, 31 and September 1 — the «Open Air Cinema Hall» will be opened on the Langeronovsky Spusk.
A very serious line-up of participants is expected at the Gala Concert on September 2 at Potemkin Stairs, which will start at 18:00.
On September 3, the Gala Concert of the festival «Pikey Vests» will begin on Kulikovoi Pole.
