Among the natural riches, which seem to be innumerable in Crimea, there are sometimes real miracles — magical places, visiting which gives a person not only a good mood, pleasant impressions and vivid memories, but even cures from diseases.
In the picturesque Krymskij-prirodnyj-zapovednik there are many places worth seeing, but the most valuable treasure of this land, hidden in the depths of the dense forest, is the healing Savlukh-Su spring. Another such spring has not yet been found anywhere in the world, only rumored to be in the United States. But even so, it means that in the protected forests of Crimea there is one of only two such treasures found on our planet.
The history of the Savlukh-Su spring goes back to the deep past — to the third century AD. The Roman Emperor Diocletian then organized a brutal persecution of the young Christian faith. Among the exiles were St. Cosmas and Damian. The cruel emperor banished them to the mountains of Taurica, during their wanderings the exiles experienced many hardships, they were struck by disease and it seemed that nothing could help them. But a miracle happened: among the dense forests on the slopes of Mount Babugan they found a spring that cured them of all their diseases. The saints settled near this spring and began to help free of charge everyone who turned to them for help, and if a person could not come to their monastery, they sent him blessed water from the spring and after some time received a letter about a new miraculous healing.
Over time, an abode sprang up around the spring for all those seeking not only physical but also spiritual healing.
The male monastery was named in honor of the saints who discovered the healing spring and existed until 1899. Then on its place was created a female monastery, which ceased to exist in the Great Patriotic War. And only in 1992 Kosmo-Damianovskij-monastery began to be restored as a male monastery. But, despite the turbulent fate of the monastery, the care of the healing spring never stopped.
The fame of the source «Healing», «healthy water» — so translates its name, thanks to the magical power of the waters flowing from the heart of the Crimean mountains, spread far beyond Taurica, and then the Crimea. And thousands of years later, it continues to heal, give youth and health to all who come to this historic and magical place.
Scientists have offered their justification for the healing power of the waters of the Savlukh-Su spring. These waters are rich in silver and zinc ions, but at the same time have low mineralization and close to neutral pH — such waters are extremely rare in nature, and the unique combination of such healing substances in them makes them effective in treating a wide range of diseases.
