Alushta Aquarium is one of the most famous sights not only of the city and Crimea, but also of the whole Ukraine. The history of the Alushta Aquarium began in 2003 with an exhibition of fish of the Black and Azov seas, organized by young specialists-ichthyologists. 
In just two years the exhibition, constantly replenished with new exhibits and inhabitants, became the largest in Crimea, and by 2007 it rightfully received the status of the largest in Ukraine.
Today, the Alushta Aquarium has four exposition halls, a terrarium and a museum of the underwater world. In the first hall, the interior of which is made in the style of Crimean caves, you can not only feel that you are in a real underwater cave, but also admire the most diverse inhabitants of the Azov and Black Seas. Sea dragons, cats, dogs, cows, skates, foxes and roosters — 
many underwater inhabitants will surprise not only with their funny names, but also with their bizarre appearance.
The second hall is the nursery of the Alushta Aquarium, where about a hundred Nile Crocodiles were born, as well as freshwater fish from all over the world. In the third hall you can also see all kinds of inhabitants of fresh waters of our planet: bloodthirsty piranhas, the largest freshwater fish in the world, reaching a length of 9 meters — Arapaima gigas, the world’s most toothy fish — 
hydrosinus vitatus, moray eels, turtles living up to 250 years and many other wonderful creatures.
In the fourth hall you can admire bright fish of amazing colors, brought from the Indo-Pacific basin and the Red Sea. One of the most interesting inhabitants of this hall is the Caribbean swordtail, an ancient marine spider that walks on the sea floor with its feet but swims with its belly up.
Once in the terrarium, all visitors to the aquarium feel as if they are in a tropical jungle. 
The environment here is specially approximated to the natural conditions of the inhabitants of the terrarium.
And the museum of the underwater world is a real find even for the most sophisticated tourists. Here are collected exhibits from all parts of the planet: from the Black Sea basin to the Mediterranean and Red Sea, from the Atlantic to the Pacific and Indian oceans. The museum is the only one of its kind in the whole country and attracts many tourists interested in the underwater world, it has the richest collection of all kinds of sea shells and corals, the beauty of which can be seen with the help of specially placed near the exhibits magnifying glasses. 
The real jaws of different species of sharks, frightening by their power and size, will tickle your nerves.
