Location: on the outskirts of the village of Vorokhta, Yaremchansky district. Vorokhta, Yaremchanskiy rayon.
How to Get There: First of all, there are shuttle buses from Ivano-Frankivsk or by electric train from Ivano-Frankivsk to Rakhiv. You can also drive your own vehicle - 80 km south along the national highway N-09 "Ivano-Frankivsk-Rakhiv-Mukachevo" through Yaremcha to the village of Tatariv, where you will need to turn left at the sign and drive another 7 km along the regional road R-24 "Tatariv - Kosiv - Kolomyia" to Vorokhta.

In winter, lovers of active recreation come here from all corners of the country and even from abroad.

As a ski resort located at an altitude of 850 meters above sea level, the village began to be famous from the end of the XIX century, when the railroad was conducted to it. The first guests of Vorokhta resort were Austrian servicemen, who learned sledding and skiing here. In 1957 the first ski school was opened in the village, and since the middle of the last century it became one of the centers for training Soviet athletes in ski jumping, biathlon, cross-country skiing and other winter sports.

Climbing to the beginning of the slopes is carried out by a high-speed 450-meter rope tow elevator, as well as chairlift length of 2 km. In addition, two more 100-meter elevators are installed in winter. Skiing is allowed not only in the daytime, but also at night, which attracts many fans of unusual recreation. And you can ride here not only on skis, but also on snowboards, sledges, snowmobiles, quad bikes. Individual lessons with an instructor, as well as ski equipment rental are available for everyone. Near the piste there is a restaurant-museum «Donechka» with a unique interior, offering Carpathian and Ukrainian cuisine.

Due to the short length and average complexity of the ski slopes, beginners and amateurs prefer to ski here, while fans of more difficult slopes stay in this village because of lower prices for accommodation and proximity to one of the most famous Carpathian ski resorts — Bukovel, which is only 18 km away from Vorokhta.

ChairliftBesides active rest at the ski resort Vorokhta you can enjoy exciting excursions to picturesque places and see the most interesting natural sights of the Carpathians — Mount Hoverla, high-mountain lake Nesamovitoe, the most beautiful corners of the Carpathian National Nature Park. All guests of the resort can ride horse-drawn sleighs, go horseback riding, and in their free time from active rest visit sauna, various relaxing and health-improving procedures in boarding houses and rest homes.
