For all those who plan to rest in Kiev for more than one day, garden and park complex «Feofania» is a must-see place. Here, on the territory of 150 hectares, is concentrated several of the most interesting sights of Kiev: St. Panteleimon Monastery with a cathedral 1914g. construction, ancient Scythian settlement, healing springs, beautiful Palladin ponds and that’s not all! This place is also interesting as one of the most beautiful parks in Kiev, where you can walk among century-old trees, admire amazing plants, breathe clean air and enjoy silence, peace and privacy. With all the popularity of this place there is always peace, 
and the picturesque nature energizes and favorably affects the mood.
It is known that in ancient times there was an apiary on the place of this territory, where citizens and visitors like to rest now. According to the annals of 1471, these lands were called Lazarevshchina in honor of the apiary owner, who gained fame as a pious elder. In the XVI century the lands became part of the possessions of Kievo-Pechersk Lavra, and in 1802 under the leadership of the Hierarch of Kiev Theophanos the St. Michael’s Church was built here and next to it — the residence of the abbot. It was in his honor that Kiev Metropolitan Gavriil began to call this area Theophany.
The foundation of St. Michael’s Church was the beginning of the Panteleimon Monastery, to which nowadays pilgrims from all over the country and abroad flock.
St. Panteleimon Cathedral is the main architectural treasure of Theophany Park. Its erection was completed in 1912, the work was led by architect E.F. Ermakov. The building of the cathedral is built in Neo-Byzantine style with elements of pseudo-Russian style, which is characterized by an appeal to the traditions of Old Russian architecture. Rising on a hill the cathedral with a small temple located next to it — 
is a majestic building with elegant decorative finishing. The walls of the cathedral are painted in brick color, and all the stucco elements — in white, thanks to which Panteleimon’s temple has a smart, festive look. This is the oldest building in the area, belonging to the history of modern times, but if you turn to more ancient times, then near Theophany you can find unique archaeological sites. This is the Hotov settlement, which borders the park in its south-western part. It dates back to the VI-IV centuries BC and is the northernmost Scythian city on the right bank of the Dnieper. Today it is an archaeological monument of Ukraine, which has the status of a national monument since 1965.
Returning to the Orthodox sights of Theophany, it is worth noting that another reason for the immense popularity of this place among tourists and residents of the city are its keys, which have a fame of healing. The most famous of them is the Tears of Our Lady, a spring with brackish water. No less respected are the springs of St. Nicholas, St. Michael and St. Panteleimon, whose water is considered curative and relieves many ailments. In total, there are more than 10 springs on the territory of the park, bathing pools are equipped, in which the water does not freeze in winter and does not get hotter than +8 degrees in summer. People who come here specially for the sake of recovery believe that if you dip three times in the font, 
as many times recite a prayer and cross yourself, and then drink from all the springs with healing water, you can get rid of many diseases and become younger.
Palladinsky Ponds — a cascade of ponds formed as a result of economic activities on reorganization of the park — also attract the attention of guests of Theophany. Initially the stream formed two ponds of small size, now there are five of them. However, due to the fact that the ponds appeared in the stream bed, they do not seem artificial, it feels as if this area has always been like this. 
In the shade of century-old trees neat ponds look very harmonious, create a picturesque picture. Romantic dates and wedding photo shoots are often held here — the amazing beauty, the atmosphere of grace and peace disposes to it as best as possible. The water treasures of the park are complemented by its no less impressive flora. Among the oaks there are long-lived trees, which are more than 300 years old, the average age of oaks in the park is 100-180 years. Not lagging behind are ash and maple trees, which are 80 to 120 years old, linden trees, which are 70 to 100 years old, and hornbeams, which are 60 to 80 years old.
Walking through the alleys of the park, it is impossible not to feel the breath of nature, echoed by the rustling of leaves and birdsong. The atmosphere of this place inspires all those who come here for a walk, to get acquainted with the sights of Kiev, to visit excursions, which are held in the park regularly. Everyone, who has a rest in Kiev at least a couple of days, for a few hours here you can plunge into different eras, enjoy being in the lap of nature, a pleasant and interesting journey. Among all the parks of Kiev Feofaniya is rightly called one of the most impressive.
