Sergeyevka is a Ukrainian resort from the so-called «new wave». It is located on the territory of Odessa region, between the shores of the Black Sea and the Shabolatsky estuary. Vacationers come here to enjoy the local balneological and climatic resources. The first ones are silt muds and mineral waters of the Shabolatsky Liman. The others are the dry climate and air saturated with vapor from the surface of both reservoirs.
Good location and natural riches allowed a modest urban-type village, which is Sergeevka, to claim the right to organize an international festival. So appeared «Sergeyevka Zori» — a youth arts festival, which receives its friends — guests and participants, in the first or last days of the holiday season.
Young people are invited to perform at «Sergeyevskie Zori» — from 6 to 28 years old, and all participants are divided into 4 age groups. They can be soloists or collectives. Participants of the festival can be dancers or vocalists working in the main musical styles. The most frequent guests at the festival are performers performing in folk, pop, classical and jazz styles.
According to the results of performances, the participants of «Sergeyevsky Zori» are awarded with diplomas, certificates, prizes, the cost of which depends on the generosity of sponsors-partners of the event. All participants become diplomats or laureates, and the most talented ones get the Grand Prix of the festival. Another «carrot» that the participants count on is a recommendation by the artistic committee of the competition to participate in some other, more prestigious, international arts festival.
Traditionally, «Sergeyevskie Zori» attracts participants from Ukraine, the Russian Federation, neighboring Moldova, nearby Poland, Romania and Bulgaria. Young artists and their support group are hosted by the hotel «Play» and boarding house «Sunny Beach».
The festival «Sergeyevskie Zori» is held in 5 days. The first day is the opening ceremony, which takes place on the territory of the hotel «Play». The second day is the so-called Mud Day, when all the participants of the festival are covered with «branded» mud from the Shabolatskiy estuary. On the same day the participants’ performances begin, which last the whole Third and Fourth day. On the last, fifth day of the festival, there is an awarding ceremony, diplomas and gifts, as well as the final Gala Concert.
Festival of Arts «Sergeevskie Zori» is not a particularly prestigious or world-famous event, so to visit the Black Sea coast and perform on its stage go mostly amateur, beginner and little-known groups. The greatest pleasure of such a cultured holiday in Sergeevka brings the festival participants themselves, who make new friends here and have a great time in the urban-type settlement between the Black Sea and Shabolatskij liman.
