beaches on Budak Spit

Budak Spit is recognized as the best «beach» of Belgorod-Dnistrovsky district. Its length is equal to 18 kilometers. It is formed by fine-grained sand of the color of chervonny, the highest gold, so rest in such a place experts compare with recreation in the famous Spanish resort Costa del Sol.

Budak Spit appeared relatively recently — in the Cenozoic era. With its help, the waves of the Black Sea tried to block the exit of fresh Dniester waters into its space. For many thousands of years, this sandy formation, like a real dam, has been holding back the waters of the Dniester with its body, preventing them from flowing into the sea.

In the southern part of the Budak spit, the river managed to break the blockade, and it is slowly seeping into the Black Sea. But the forces are not equal,

Therefore, a huge reservoir of fresh water — the Dniester estuary — has now formed in the lower reaches of one of the most characteristic rivers of Ukraine and Moldova.

So, on one side of the Budak Spit there is Dnestrovsky Liman. On the other side, the waters of the Black Sea beat against it, bringing new sand and strengthening the «dam». In itself, this place is of extremely favorable strategic importance. That is why the ports of the Dniester estuary — Ovidiopol and Belgorod-Dnestrovsky, dreamed to seize every strategist who fished in the Northern Black Sea coast.

A completely different role is played by the line of settlements formed on the spit itself. Zatoka settlement opens the parade. Right after it begins the village of Karolino-Bugaz. On the other side of the spit are the settlements of Kurortnoye, Primorskoe and Sergeevka,

The inhabitants of Budak Spit between the Budak Liman and the Black Sea have long since moved away from the traditional activities of potato growing and fattening pigs, and are actively engaged in providing various kinds of services to numerous tourists.

For example, in Sergeevka come those who are recommended the local climate — warm, dry, and air — saturated with vapors rising from the surface of the sea and estuary. There is a water treatment center built here — local chloride-sodium-magnesium water, black mud of Shabolatskiy (Budakskiy) estuary, as well as mineral liquids similar to the waters of «Kuyalnik» and Mirohorodskaya are used for procedures.

The village Karolino-Bugaz pleases travelers with the presence of many sanatoriums and tourist bases of economy class, located on the seashore, as well as a very curious history.

The appearance of Bugaz is associated with the Tatars, and after the Russo-Turkish war Polish counts Scibor-Marchotsky settled here, who «added» the beautiful word «Carolino» to the name of their possessions.

Villages Kurortnoe and Primorskoe interest tourists with developed recreational infrastructure and a variety of accommodation offers. There is everything here, from suites designed for the nouveau riche to really cheap rooms, from houses near the seashore to luxurious villas built on a high cliff, from which there are insanely beautiful views of the Black Sea and Bessarabia.

The list of anthropogenic-recreational attractions of the Black Sea region continues with «Miss Zatoka». This settlement is proud of its five-kilometer sandy beach (one fourth of Budak Spit), so rest in Zatoka is popular with everyone who «flew» with a trip to the Costa del Sol, the Canaries or the Maldives.
