Difficult political and economic situation in Ukraine did not prevent the Ministry of Resorts and Tourism of the ARC Republican contest «Kaleidoscope of Wonders of Crimea» in the period from November 25, 2013 to February 27, 2014. The main goal of this contest is to identify the most attractive for tourists objects of nature, architecture, culture, history on the territory of Crimea and to create the necessary conditions for further popularization of these attractions of the Republic.
As a result of Internet voting, in which about 60 thousand people participated, and summarizing the assessments of experts in history, archeology, architecture and ecology were determined and announced in Yalta at the XS International Tourism Fair «Crimea. Resorts. Tourism. 2014» contest winners in three nominations.
Thus, in the nomination «7 Natural Wonders of Crimea» won the geological natural monument of national importance «Red Cave», Karadag Nature Reserve of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Crimean Nature Reserve, landscape reserve of national importance «Grand Canyon of Crimea». National Natural Park «Charivna Gavan», Nikitskij botanical garden, park of garden and park art «Aivazovskoye».
The nomination «7 historical and cultural wonders of Crimea» was won by the republican institution «Alupkinsky palace and park museum-reserve«, National Reserve «Chersonesos Tavricheskij», objects of the route «Little Jerusalem», Cave Cities and Khan’s Palace of the Bakhchisarai Historical and Cultural Reserve, Tsar’s Kurgan of the Kerch Historical and Cultural Reserve, Aivazovsky National Art Gallery.
The leaders of the nomination «7 modern wonders of Crimea» recognized the museum historical and memorial complex to the defenders of Sevastopol «35th coastal battery«, botanical garden of the Vernadsky Tauride National University, the lion park «Taigan», the park «Crimea in miniature», the dolphinarium «Aquarelle» and the suspended passenger cable car «Miskhor-Ai-Petri».
