Of all the Ukrainian resorts this one is the most famous, the name Bukovel at least once, probably, every person has heard. Located in the picturesque tract of Vishnya near the village Poljanica Bukovel ski resort is considered to be the best place for ski vacation in Ukraine and, moreover, one of the best ski resorts in the world.
The resort is located 10 minutes drive from the center of the village Polyanitsa Ivano-Frankivsk region in an amazing area, the beauty of which is difficult to verbal descriptions — it must be seen with your own eyes. Bukovel got its name from the mountain of the same name, which rises 1120 meters into the sky, not the highest of the area, but ideal for comfortable skiing.
The construction of the resort began in 2001, when entrepreneur A. Shevchenko (the current director) and his friends decided to build not just a ski resort, but a world-class resort in a place seemingly created especially for such a vacation. One of a number of positive factors for the construction of the resort here was the absence of strong winds due to the fact that the place is surrounded by high mountains, and this can boast few major ski centers.
Creation of slopes and infrastructure for recreation in Bukovel was carried out by Canadian and Austrian specialists, who had experience in the construction of ski resorts recognized today as the best in the world and developed a modern plan for the development of the tourist complex. As a result, Bukovel became one of the best ski resorts in the world, without exaggeration. Many famous people, including V. Yushchenko and his family, come here to relax. Today Bukovel ski resort is almost 60 km of slopes of different difficulty level and 16 modern elevators (from 4-chair to rope tow elevators). The skiing season lasts in Bukovel from December to May, all slopes are equipped with snow cannons, thanks to which they maintain an optimal level of snow cover in any weather. However, in this resort there are a lot of other options for recreation, in addition to skiing.
