This attraction of the old Carpathian town of Kosova has become famous throughout the country and beyond. Kosovo Bazaar is a unique phenomenon for modern Ukraine, which attracts all tourists spending their holiday in Kosovo, and has not lost its popularity for many years.
Kosov is one of the most famous centers of Hutsul culture, the capital of folk art of the Carpathian mountaineers, who from ancient times are famous as talented masters of arts and crafts. Since time immemorial, the Hutsuls have been engaged in weaving, carpet making, embroidery, wood carving, burning, turning, making decorative and household items from leather and ceramics. Handicrafts of Carpathian mountaineers at all times were in great demand and aroused interest among the guests of Hutsulshchyna. Kosovo Bazaar opens for residents and guests of the city once a week — from the earliest morning (6-7 hours) on Saturday on Cheremshyna Street on the eastern outskirts of Kosovo. It is the largest traditional Hutsul fair in the Pre-Carpathian region, where you can buy all kinds of beautiful household and souvenir products made of leather, wood, wool, ceramics, metal, as well as clothes, folk costumes, pysanky and embroidery. Here you can buy dishes, carpets, ethnic clothing and much more, and the prices for goods sold at the Kosovo Bazaar, created by the hands of Hutsul craftsmen, are much lower than at other fairs, and sellers are happy to bargain with buyers.
The trade in various goods starts right after the bridge over the Ribnica River near the roadway, while the most famous part of the Kosovo Bazaar, the souvenir market, is located downstream from the bridge on Cheremshina Street. It is the most famous souvenir market in the whole of Ukraine.
.Horse harness, wicker baskets, musical instruments, pysanky, embroidered rushniki, woven shirts, spindles, carpets, sleeveless jackets, hats, highly artistic carvings, ceramics, beadwork (gerdans) — all this and much more can be purchased at the Kosovo Bazaar. Ceramic products, which are presented on the market in the widest variety — zbanchiki, whistles, izraztsi, krinki, tsukernichki, makitra, bells, tiles, kumantsi, pleskantsi, pysanki, decorative plates and much, much more — deserve a separate fame.
