One of the most amazing works of engineering art and architecture in Ukraine is the light and music Fountain ROSHEN. Since September 4, 2011 it serves as a decoration of Vinnytsia, and guests from all over Ukraine come to admire it. This fountain was presented to the citizens of Vinnitsa and all Ukrainians by the world leader of confectionery industry — ROSHEN Confectionery Corporation. The opening of the fountain took place in the presence of tens of thousands of people on the embankment of the Southern Bug River.
The fountain was built in the bed of the Southern Bug River in g. Vinnitsa near the island Festivalny (Kempa). This is the only in Ukraine and the largest in Europe floating fountain, which is also one of the ten most spectacular fountains in the world. Strong water jets flying upwards under the music accompanied by light and laser effects create a truly magical spectacle along with video projection on a huge water screen. This effect is achieved with the help of super powerful LED lights. The height of the central jet reaches 60-70 meters, the size of the water projection screen is about 16 meters high and 45 meters wide, the frontal spread of water is 140 meters.
The moving elements, which rotate around their axis to change the angle of the water jets, also add to the spectacle.
The Fountain is also unique in that it uses «living» water from the river, rather than being installed in artificial pools with purification systems like most of the world’s complex fountain systems.
To see the ROSHEN light and music fountain in all its glory is possible in the warm season, as in winter time it is «hidden» under the ice, at the bottom of the Southern Bug. The opening of the fountain season usually takes place in the 20th of April. The show program that accompanies the opening changes every year.
After the season opening the ROSHEN Fountain works daily on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 14:00 to 22:00, on Tuesday from 18:00 to 22:00, on Saturday, Sunday and holidays from 12:30 to 22:00. The spectacular video spectacle can be enjoyed in the evening. In 2013, special shows have been prepared for the audience — «Inventions», «Elves», «History of Music» and «Roboshen».
