In Chernigov, one of the most ancient cities, which was part of Kievan Rus, history and modernity are intertwined in an amazing way. Thus, one of its most famous modern sights is Light and Light Fountain, which gathers hundreds of residents and guests of the city in the evenings for an amazing water and light and music show.
Light and light fountains — urban decoration due to its cost is still quite rare both in Ukraine and Russia. It is not possible to see such fountains in every Ukrainian city, so people from all over the country come to Chernihiv to see this amazing spectacle.
Chernihiv light and music fountain was presented to the city by the charitable foundation Native Chernihiv, and its opening in the central square named after Popudrenko took place in 2008. Since then, many people gather in the park every day in the warm season to contemplate this beautiful fountain.
Light and music fountain of Chernihiv differs from other similar Ukrainian fountains by its original design: its bowl ends with a rim made in the form of broken shapes. The bowl was built from labradorite stone quarried in Zhitomir region, and its diameter is 12 meters.
The performance of the fountain is a spectacle that will impress even the most demanding people. Water jets rise to the height of 10 meters, 
accurately and harmoniously echoing the music and even its separate accents. Changing from delicate pink to cheerful yellow, from deep purple to rich emerald green and cold aquamarine water jets, simultaneously reaching the most different heights and performing the most different forms, are mesmerizing. Watching the bright and amazingly colorful fountain, whose water jets rise sharply upwards and twist gracefully, stand in a row and move chaotically, creates the feeling of being in a fairy-tale world, especially in the dark evening.
Initially, the fountain was programmed for 12 songs, but over time, the employees learned to adjust the computer program controlling it to other melodies, including the famous «Murka».
Light and light fountain, without exaggeration — a spectacle of incredible beauty, an amazing water and light and music show, worthy of one of the best cities in Ukraine such as Chernigov. And this is confirmed by the increasing popularity of this attraction of Chernigov and the stories of people who have seen it and not only were not disappointed, but even pleasantly surprised by the fact that this spectacle exceeds all expectations.
