Winter vacation on Lake Synevyr
In Ukraine there are many beautiful bodies of water, picturesque surroundings, clean air, intoxicating silence of which attract numerous fans of summer and winter vacations in the corners of untouched nature. One of the most famous and popular among travelers is Lake Sinevir — the largest mountain lake of the Ukrainian Carpathians, located on the territory of the National Nature Park of the same name. It is surrounded by steep mountains covered with century-old spruce and deciduous trees, amazes visitors with its pristine purity and is rightfully considered the most valuable natural treasure and pearl of the Carpathians.
The lake is located at an altitude of 989m above sea level. It was formed as a result of a powerful landslide and overlapping of the valley of the mountain stream; it is surrounded by the Kamenka mountain from the north, the Ovcharsky Verkh ridge from the south, the Borzhava polonina from the west and Mount Strymba from the southeast. The lake is fed by the water of numerous mountain streams and atmospheric precipitation, on which its area and depth depend. Here the surrounding world lives in perfect harmony with the natural laws of nature. On the territory of National Park «Synevir» many species of wild animals and birds coexist; the lake is rich in fish and crayfish, and the pine needles of Carpathian mireks fill the air with fragrant unique healing aroma. The peaceful beauty and silence of this pearl of the Carpathians attracts many visitors both in summer and winter.
In winter not far from Lake Synevir there is a ski slope with an elevator, the length of which is 200m and the height difference is 50m. Deep snow cover lies here until April. In the village of Kolochava there is the highest ski base in the Carpathians. Visitors to this amazing region can go sledding and skiing, hiking and horseback riding in the snowy surroundings of the lake, taste delicious dishes of Transcarpathian cuisine. Tourist recreation centers and boarding houses offer their services to tourists. In the private sector you can rent a room or a house for a reasonable price.
