New Year and Christmas holidays are approaching. Each of us again faces a pleasant problem — how and where to celebrate the New Year and have a good rest. Many variants of New Year’s entertainment are offered by travel companies — it is visiting ski slopes of our country and abroad, and active rest, and examination of underground caves, and everything else that leaves a lot of unforgettable impressions in a person, guarantees a huge portion of adrenaline and a charge of vigor. Unforgettable impressions leave an acquaintance with interesting cultural attractions of Ukraine. Ancient castles, palaces, fortresses, noble estates, ancient monasteries and churches and other historical monuments today have gained wide popularity among lovers of cultural recreation.
The number of excursion tours to historical sights of Ukraine is constantly increasing. New tourist tours have been added to the list of well-known cultural and cognitive routes in the cities and regions of our country. On December 12, 2011 Kharkiv Regional Tourist Information Center identified five tourist routes, which were included in the Golden Ring of Slobozhanshchina. The names of these routes are expressive: «History of Kharkiv estates», «In the footsteps of a great artist», «Trails of a wandering philosopher», «Tales of Kharkiv Switzerland» and «Shrines of Slobodsky Krai». The participants of the excursions will visit architectural monuments of Kharkov region, Ilya Repin’s house-museum in Chuguev, will get acquainted with the Kovalevsky family estate, where the philosopher and writer Grigory Skovoroda spent his last days, will see a lot of interesting things in Zmievsky district, and will visit church temples of Kharkov region. These routes will be interesting for both Ukrainian tourists and guests of the European Football Championship EURO 2012.
Invariably attractive Russia for tourists. The Golden Ring of Russia awaits them during the holidays. Moscow Kremlin and Red Square, the historical center of St. Petersburg and palace and park complexes of its surroundings, ancient cultural monuments of the Russian Federation.
During the period of New Year’s travels in many places of the routes will be organized festive festivities, meetings with Ded Moroz and Snegurochka, New Year’s tree. Tour participants will be able to familiarize themselves not only with the sights, but also with the folk traditions of New Year’s Eve and Christmas, taste the national cuisine, as well as take an active part in these festive events.
