According to the management of the Donetsk railroad, the region continues to work on the reduction of unprofitable routes. Unfortunately this includes trains to Sviatogorsk: Sviatogorsk — Krasny Liman, Donetsk — Sviatogorsk and Debaltsevo — Sviatogorsk.
According to the management of the railroad 95% of the passengers of these suburban trains — privileged, and the cost of their transportation from the state budget are not in a hurry to repay. But the reason for this is also the very poor technical condition of the electric trains themselves.
It is a pity that from Donetsk it is now impossible to get to Sviatogorsk by train. After all, a huge number of tourists come to this small town, as it is called «Donetsk Switzerland», not only from Ukraine, but also from Russia and Belarus.

It is famous not only for its amazing natural conditions, but also for its architectural monuments. Here is the famous, far beyond the borders of Ukraine, Svyatogorska Uspenska Lavra, an Orthodox monastery of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The history of the monastery goes back to the XIV or XV century, when the first monks settled on this territory, and the first mention is in 1526.
What can I say, of course, to get here by electric train was inexpensive and relatively convenient. But still, you can get to Sviatogorsk without problems not only by private transportation, but also by bus from almost any major city in the Donetsk region or on passing passenger trains.
